Okay, I watched part of the Bacon draft in a chat tonight. Fanball is faster.

 

We're using it. It's all set up. You all should have email with directions. The commish does not get that email. It's just a mass invitation, and since I'm sending, I don't get a copy. Let me know you got it. Let me know if it's all good, or if you have a problem.

How can I setup a 'predraft ranking' of the players I would like to draft?

Prior to your draft, you can add players to your draft queue by clicking on the players name and choosing "Add this player to your queue at:". Choose a number from the drop down menu (this number is the players rank within your queue) and click "Submit".

 

This might be good to play with before the draft just to familiarize with the movement of players. When you click a players name, to draft or queue, the player pool is replaced with a new window briefly as you make your move.

 

How do I access the chat feature?

To access the chat feature, click on 'Chat' in the upper right-hand corner of the main Draft Room page.

 

I'll have our bulletin board open for emergency notices. My email is fftdpatron@yahoo.com for the same purpose and a players list. But the draft room's chat feature will be the fastest way to get my attention if you need. Give it a click today before the draft. I may be in there. It opens up a new window separate from the main draft.

 

How do I view my league's draft information?

To view your league's draft information, click on the "Settings" link in the upper right hand corner.

 

What are the maximum and minimum number of players I need at each position?

To view the maximum and minimum number of players needed at each position, click on "Settings" in the upper right hand corner, then click on "Positions".

 

Again, we start 1qb, 2rb, 3wr, 1te, 2dl, 2lb, 2db, 2dflex. You are free to fill out your roster as you see fit, so the draftroom's league settings on this topic aren't real informative. I set all positions to zero minimum and no maximum.

 

How can I view the other teams in my league's information, names, emails, etc.?

To view the their info, click on 'Settings' in the upper right-hand corner of the main Draft Room page, then click on 'Teams'.

 

I want to see the entire draft board, how do I do that?

To expand the draft board, click on the red 'Expand' button on the main Live Draft Room window.

 

 

I want to see 'less' of the draft board, how do I do that?

To collapse the draft board, just click on the red 'Collapse' button on the Live Draft Room window.

 

Exanding and collapsing the room basically allows you to see the current three rounds (collapsed), or all 25 (expanded). It's a nice feature that functions appropriately.

 

I want to keep the draft window small, but just scroll up and down; how do I do that?

To scroll up or down, click on the red "Scroll Up" or "Scroll Down" buttons located above the upper right corner of the Live Draft Room window.

 

I recommend sizing the draftroom's entire window to fit all 12 teams across the board and not scrolling side to side. Scrolling up and down in collapsed mode is fine. Scrolling side to side gave me some strange results a few times.

 

How will I know when it's my turn to pick a player?

It is your turn to pick when your team name is highlighted in red.

 

Yes, when you turn red, click on the player you want. The window will change. Quickly select "Draft this player" and "submit." Thanks.

 

How will I know when my picks are?

The picks that are highlighted in Blue are your picks.

 

How can I change from one player position to another?

To change from one player position to another, use the drop down menu under "2. Player Lists" to select the position you want to view.

 

The player I want to draft is not in the list, how can I find him?

To find a player not in the list, type his name into the text box to the left of the red "Search Players" button, then click the red "Search Players" button.

 

The IDPs are alphabetical. The offensive players are "pre-ranked" by fanball, but not in any perfect order. You will have to seek players via the above method from time to time.

 

Within the player lists, how do I sort the columns?

To sort the section by a certain column, click on the headline (Yds, Avg, TD, etc) of the column you wish to sort. For example, if I want to see which QB threw the most TD passes last year, click on "TD" under the "Passing" heading.

 

How do I draft a player?

To draft a player, simply click on his name when it is your turn to draft, and choose the

"Draft this Player" option.

How do I refresh the draft?

To refresh the draft, click the red 'Refresh' button in the upper right-hand corner of the main Draft Room page.

 

Hopefully we won't be experiencing any difficulties. A quick refresh has "caught me up" a couple times when it seemed to lose me. Other times I have had to log out and log back in.

 

Can I view the draft from Microsoft Excel?

To view the draft in Microsoft Excel form, just click on the red 'Excel' in the upper right-hand corner of the main Draft Room page.

To add or remove players to the draft queue, click on the player's name (either the player in the list if he's not in the queue, or the player in the queue if you want to remove him) and the option will pop up.

 

How do I change my queue preferences?

To change queue preferences, click on "Change queue preferences" at the top of the draft queue, then select your new preference and click the red Update button.

 

How do I view other team's rosters?

To view other team's rosters, scroll down to the "4. Rosters" box near the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. Choose the team you wish to view from the pulldown menu.

 

Can other team members see who I have in queue?

No, you are the only one that is able to view your own queue. This also means that you are not able to view anyone else's queue either.

Yes, it's serpentine. Your picks trade has been input to the order already. The picks will go left to right in odd rounds and drop down going right to left in even rounds.

Another helpful or useless tip. Drafted players get highlighted "dark" once they're taken. I know it's an obvious one, but in the draft I watched over the weekend the chatroom was pretty funny on this topic.

Another thing. I set the timer to 3 minutes, but also set it to "wait" after the time expires. If a delay is without communication and we're stalled, my only option is to force a pick. Those of you who sent me lists last year, or in the mock I ran here, know that I handle them with responsibility (you always get your pick unless someone other than me takes him first), and you know that they REALLY can save a draft, keep it moving, and keep everyone happy.

 

I do not open a list unless I have to use it.

I take the first available player and put him on your team.

 

It's been most effective if the list is very short and covering one round, but last year Ayatollah sent me a list that covered him for 7 rounds without a hitch.

Another worthless tip, but maybe helpful to some with memory concerns. The longer a java room is open, the more taxing it becomes. Do any pre-draft queueing etc., then be sure to log out and log back in before the draft. It could keep you "healthy" longer. This used to be an issue a few years ago. I'm not sure if it still matters.
