Zap 0 Posted September 10, 2004 B Diggity Dawkins for Rod "the" Gardner OIC. Yes, I accept your apology for all the needless whining over the forced pickup of Brian Dawkins. You're quite welcome, btw.
Diesel07 0 Posted September 10, 2004 i love the "Oh, theres no time limit" when i specifically asked you and the "Post your pick here if time expires" It wasnt just 1 DB that messed me up, but the fact you picked 2 Whatever, its all good. the only WR i had targeted was Kennison and a different DB

vlade21 0 Posted September 10, 2004 Zap, this league sure is a lot less appreciative than Bacon! In that league we had to pick for 3 guys who couldn't make the draft and they were all and grateful for the picks afterward. Perhaps the fact that this is an fftoday league brings with it a negative mentality.
Zap 0 Posted September 10, 2004 Well, Diesel was just in a really stressfull situation. He was available but handicapped by his pooter. It must have sucked to try and make picks but have your computer perform so terribly that... someone else picked for you while you were trying to pick. Think about it. It would really suck. You're right though. He should thank me and stfu. For the record. He claims he wanted Kennison where I forced Dawkins, who he's now turned into Gardner. I took Dawkins for him in the 12th after a 4+ minute wait. It was a value pick based on him having ZERO dbs at the time and a significant # of them had been taken. It was the first pick I forced for him, and the others in the chat were begging me to just pick his team and get it over with. He picked two more players, June and Carr, after the Dawkins pick and before Kennison was drafted. So, the Kennison thing is just nonsense. I explained that to him last night. Part of his problem was wasting time trying to draft players that were already gone, Udeze for example. The big John Henderson pick freaked him out, but if you looked at the state of DLs then wtf. I'll admit that was a bad pick, but his constant loooooong delays had me a little worked. This is a clear case of selfishness on his part. He should understand that one will be sacrificed for the benefit of 11, before 11 will be sacrificed for the benefit of one, and thus be more appreciative and apologetic. I have to hear about how "I" messed him up. Whatever. He was messing up 11 others, but that seems to be a non-issue to him. Yes, I said there would be no eforced time limit. I said that in the context of there being 12 people working hard and getting it done as fast as possible. That's the usual deal in any live draft, but he seems to think no time limit means he was on the calendar, not the clock. Zman has been appreciative of me covering his much more important first 5 picks even though he didn't get exactly who he wanted. Deisel lost his 12th and 16th and has constantly reminded me of the tragedy that struck his draft. He also brings up the fact that I instructed him to pick here on the board if he couldn't do so there. First thing I did when he came up was come here and look for his pick. All I got was picked on for trying to help. He never once picked a player here despite desperately trying to pick them in the draftroom. If he typed it here, I would pick it up with one refresh and be done with it in about 30 seconds. But no, I had to come here and read his rants without him once giving me his pick. I won't hold my breath for his appreciation and apology, but I did want to set the record straight on some of his persistent and erroneous comments. Done. I do understand that it sucked to be drafting in his shoes though. If he could have witnessed the chat and the rest of our concerns, maybe he'd apologize and stop whining about things that didn't happen how he thinks they happened. He really should drop it with this post, but I suspect he will have more to say. Consider this my short response should he continue to complain. And remember I have the power to edit his team. Fwiw, I think his team is very good. Anyone who read my chit on the mange board knows I think Green is big time this year. If you read my article on camp battles at RB, you know I think Stephen Davis has huge upside from his ADP. Deisel's RB tandem is going to keep him in this all season, if it stays healthy. Of course, vlade, you spoon fed possibly better one to 420 who also has Harrison. Man you make this difficult.

Saying J.Lewis/C.Dillon is possibly better than A.Green/S.Davis is like saying the Raiders are possibly better than the Patriots this year. Also, you can't gloat about how I traded you studBoldin for nothing and then gripe about my trades with other players in the same day. I'm pretty sure there's a rule against that. I'm pretty sure there's a rule against that. I remember early last season, when you claimed you weren't one for trading. Man, you got the bug! I did, man, I really did! I think maybe in the past I just never had trade offers that looked good to me and after I had a few that did I started looking for them more. In Bacon since it's a keeper league I like to trade players for draft picks so that I can fill out my starting lineup sooner in the draft. The results were great doing that last year. And I kind of did the same thing here this year. But not all trades have worked out for me.
Diesel07 0 Posted September 10, 2004 My mother told me if i don't have nothing nice to say, dont say nothing at all. But i wil say this. I know for a FACT, when i said i wanted Kennison, he went like 3 picks after me. It was a round when it started with zzzman and was going up to PIK95. It might have not been Dawkins that preceeded my Kennison rant, but whoever it was, he was available. Ok, and about my drafting. I dont know if its the 56 line i was on, but SOME players like Udeze were still available according to the pool. His name wasn't grayed out like some of the others, so i was sitting there hitting draft player just thinking my comp was lagging. I think you go a little to far with this ungrateful thing. Whoever said i was ungrateful? I didn't like some of the picks, so whats there to say thankyou about? I know Zap can't read my mind and im not trying to place any blame on him. There were times when i drafted a player and the lagg was so horrible, all of sudden 5-6 picks would show up on the screen. Now im playing catchup on my cheetsheat, trying to x out these players before it gets back to me. I was trying to enter the damn chat, but the install for the java update was taking sooo long, i had to cancel it. Im happy with Stephen Davis falling to me in the 2nd and Martin in the 3rd. Martins been way undervalued this season. At one point, i was considering taking him in the 2nd. Im really happy with Trent Green falling to the 7th as well. No one knows what its like to sit in a fuken hurricane for a day. Than trying to get a boxer to take a piss in 50 mph winds. Not having HOT water, waking up at 7 am to rush and get a generator and stopping at 10 different places to find gas cans and than trying to find an "open" gas station. Than having to drag all the garbage down to the road to make room in your garage for you car and than find out the garbage men STOPPED their cleanup. Than you have to lugg all that ###### back and find room for it. Than i had to deal with my knit-picking grandparents for 4 days . Try having to sleep on the tile its so damn hot. Than having to cut down trees and drag them to the corner of the road. than running out of food, and yes we did have lots of food, but it goes FAST. Than try to lugg a bunch of dirty, wet clothes, and a Boxer (my dog) to Jacksonville. Than worrying the next day where and how im gonna draft. Im sorry, but i dont know what you want me to apoligize for. These last weeks have been HELL for me, now im not going to be home for another week cause of Hurricane Ivan, category 5, whose projected to come through my area It sucks when you look forward to something, than have it ruined. I mean ruined by this hurricane, not you Zap

Zap 0 Posted September 11, 2004 It sucks when you look forward to something, than have it ruined. I mean ruined by this hurricane, not you Zap I'm just going to call this my apology. It's as close as I will ever get. I cannot believe you picked up my boy Henderson after all that bile you spewed my way over me drafting him for you! I didn't want to pick him up this week because of the "controversy" surrounding me picking him for you then not putting him on your roster, but I would have added him next week. DLs that post 58 tackles, 4 sacks, 3 FF, and 7PD in their second year are hard to come by, and he's getting better. Big John is going to get alot more sacks this year. I plugged in old Bert Berry this week, because I think he's going to kill Bulger, but I was going to grab Hendu next week. You'll like him.
Diesel07 0 Posted September 11, 2004 if u want him tha bad ill drop him, so you can have him. Kalimba Edwards may not be playing everydown, so thats why i dropped him. The reason i DID pick up Henderson was because of his matchup. Buff wants to run more and i know that Bledsoe will stay in the pocket and hold on to the ball, thus resulting in good numbers. If its that much of a controversy, ill drop him and start leng, whose #s in my opinion are pretty good if you ask me. There are about 3 other DL that i could easily plug in and have no regrets about starting, so if you really really want him that bad, just let me know, and ill drop him in a heartbeat, no big deal. I do understand your anger after my rant about Henderson and now im going to go crawl in my whole  I may bjust drop him anyways Im going back home today, FINALLY! Zap 0 Posted September 11, 2004 if u want him tha bad ill drop him, so you can have him. Im going back home today, FINALLY! Drop him if YOU want to, not because I'm a whiner. I want Lloyd though. There's nothing on my roster that will pry him away? You're going home for Ivan? Good luck with that storm, dude. I haven't been following him the past couple of days, other than the forecast for today, but he was almost Cat 5 last I checked...
Zap 0 Posted September 11, 2004 I do understand your anger after my rant about Henderson... It's not real anger, bro. We're talking tier 7 DLs and a fargin tackle for Pete's sake! It's just ironic which is always entertaining. I hope he squashes Bledsoe for you.
Diesel07 0 Posted September 11, 2004 Yea, we'll see how your guy does tomorrow. I just got home today and theres electricity, but NO FUKEN CABLE ! This sucks hardcore. I came all the way home just so i could relax while i drink some beer and watch the games. Guess ill scratch the watching teh game part. That Ivan is projected to hit a little of the west coast and head up to the panhandle, so im not worried. I havent really looked at your roster for Lloyd tradebait. ill go check it out now.
