cleocrazy 0 Posted September 8, 2021 Hi, I have an M1 Macbook Pro running MS Excel for Mac 16.52, and every time I try to Compile or Update Projections, Excel crashes. I tried both the normal download and the alternate file but both crash. Worst case I draft from home via my PC, but I'd like to be able to attend in person (tomorrow night!). That's what I get for waiting until the last minute... (to be fair I always do, and I've got 4 titles in 8 years. I know Draft Buddy has helped me get there!) This is just the beginning of the error log: Microsoft Error Reporting log version: 2.0 Error Signature: Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS ExceptionEnumString: 1 Exception Code: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS (0x0000000000000000) Date/Time: 2021-09-08 02:45:29 +0000 Application Name: Microsoft Excel Application Bundle ID: com.microsoft.Excel Application Signature: XCEL Application Bitness: x64 Application Version: 16.52.0.21080801 Crashed Module Name: Microsoft Excel Crashed Module Version: 16.52.21080801 Crashed Module Offset: 0x00000000013b3da4 Blame Module Name: Microsoft Excel Blame Module Version: 16.52.21080801 UnsymbolicatedChecksum: EC5EEA13F5D2FAD8BAFB7C0B04C25B71 Blame Module Offset: 0x00000000013b3da4 StackHash: f99c35a5e77ff3ef-dm_1_main_arm Application LCID: 1033 Extra app info: Reg=en Loc=0x0409 Build Type: Release Crashed thread Stack Pointer: 0x_000000016d931de0 Crashed thread:
Mike MacGregor 20 Posted September 8, 2021 Good news, we've got an easy fix for this one. I'm glad your draft is tomorrow! You need to run Excel in Rosetta mode. This is an issue + solution that came up this year and is specific to Macs with the M1 chip. See here for details:
