This might be another quick to the line Garoppolo sneak.  They're trying to be conservative.

I think you have to kick it. 

80 yards in a minute to win versus 65 for the tie.

On second thought I think it would make sense to go.

Say it's 40% to win the game right there with a TD.  Give the chargers about a 35% chance of making a FG to tie.  2% they score a TD to beat you.  Then 50% chance they win in OT.

That's about what? A 10% chance they beat you if you go for it?

Kick a FG and you have to figure the chance they score a TD for the win is better than 10%

I will say though the 49ers just kept taking points all game and won the game even after overcoming a blocked punt and losing the turnover battle.
