If this passes, immediately go to your boss and tell them you have no issue with receiving after hour calls or messages.    Seems a simple way to stand above

Seriously though.   You and one other person are bucking for the open position that just came available.   Your boss has a choice.  Pick the emplyee that shuts off completely at 5PM,  and even possibly reports the boss to someone for trying to contact them after hours.

OR

Pick the person who is available, willing to help, answers calls, emails or texts after hours.  Hmmm....Tough choice.
