Why do we...

...still use old school sketch artists in big trials?

 

 

..and are they instructed to sketch like Jackson Pollock on acid?

 

"We can't have cameras in the courtroom, oh no! But if you just draw them really badly? Then we can work around that."

 

Meanwhile, before and after the trial, the principal players get about 1500 pictures taken of them.

That's a distinction without a difference; what is accomplished by providing sketches instead of still photography?
