TBayXXXVII 2,664 Posted September 15 Looks like they have an argument, somewhat, based on that article. People see a link, see it's referenced, but don't bother to click on the website. That in turn, reduces foot traffic and limits the income generation stream. Now, if that something they can sue for? Not sure, but I think they have an argument for the situation. MikeMatt 366 Posted September 15 I agree and it might just be the start of it. I hate where this is going with AI

I purchased a lifetime subscription to video editing software from Wondershare in 2019. Edited a storm video recently & tried to export it. A pop-up appeared and told me to choose a plan/subscription. This happened in the past, but instead of asking me to subscribe, it said the video would contain a watermark. Turns out it only happened because I wasn't logged in to my account. Logging in solved the problem. This last time, I was already logged in. Tried a couple more times but the result was the same. The pop-up appeared and told me to choose a plan/subscription. Emailed tech-support. The response was something like this: Hello my name is Kay, I'm your AI assistant. I gave a detailed description of the issue, but the suggestions/solutions were absolutely worthless. Next I called the toll-free tech-support number. Same focking thing.......all AI & not helpful at all. It takes a long time to become familiar with and learn how to use video editing software. To say I was pissed would be a huge understatement. A day or two later I decided to log out & log back in. Thankfully, that solved the problem, but it makes me wonder if they didn't do that intentionally & hope that people would give up & purchase a lifetime subscription for the 2nd time ?
