Keeper Draft Tonight! Need help with pick 1.05

Right now I'm thinking Tiki over Edge. I like Edge for the youth but I think his move to AZ is a huge question mark. Meanwhile, Tiki's offense has gotten better and his QB is growing up. Who would you take? I'm pretty sure it'll be one of these two but if you have another suggestion feel free to share.

 

PS. I KNOW that the 4th pick will be portis because the owner taking him is my brother.... so that would be LJ, SA, LT, and Portis with the 1-4 picks...

 

I should also mention that we don't get PPR...

really? I hadn't heard that....

 

The 5 spot is a tough one this year - it seems like a reach to take a guy like Rudi, Lamont or Sjax, but I just don't feel as comfortable taking tiki or edge - I've tried to trade down but found no takers...

I'd still go with Tiki. He isn't talking about retiring this year, but maybe next. He also has less wear and tear than other backs because he was platooned early in his career, which makes up for his age. Add Zona's horrible O line, and I think Tiki becomes the clear choice...

Its a keeper league. The fall off from Tiki to the other guys isn t that steep for one year. Its speculation but he gave an interview saying he could walk away now without regret etc....

Oh, didn't see that (looking at post, not title), the retirement talk certianly drops Tiki's stock. If that's the case I'd pick the young gun you feel most comfortable with. I think that S. Jax isn't that big a stretch in this spot. If you want security go with Edge, but there's less upside than with folks like Caddy or Brown...Rudi'd be a good safe pick as well. He's as consistent as they come.

Guh, this thread pretty much exemplifies what has been going on in my head for the past two weeks - I just don't know who to take here! I'm still leaning towards Tiki, but this is going to be a hell of a decision tonight...

Retire or not, Tiki is 31 - CuMar is the most durable back I've seen and at 33 he appears close to done. If its between Edge and Tiki, i'd stay with Tiki. However I would go young and get a guy like Steven Jackson, Ronnie Brown, Lamont Jordan or Cadillac. Can you trade down?

Tiki perhaps retiring next year scares me - especially since this is a keeper league. Tiki should be better than Edge this year, but you'll be left with nothing next year (perhaps).

No ppr, takes Tiki out of the running for me... feel he'll lose goal line, plus the Giants are pretty solid, thinking playoffs...ease up on Tiki for the season and have him somewhat rested for playoffs??!! Jacobs is a monster who should get more work. I like Jackson or Brown, both teams will lean on their rb's heavily, and both should be in a dog fight for a playoff spot. Jackson is my favorite rb period this year...who knows...god I love this game!!!!!!!!

I'd forget Tiki in a keeper. I would look for SJax, R.Brown or Caddy.
