update issue

Recommended Posts

Hi Dan. That link in the post doesn't work because it has a period on the end of it, but the page is there:

http://www.fftoday.com/compiler/update14/adp.htm

Is this the first time you've tried to update? Try going to the ADP tab, and update just the ADP - either one - and see if that works. It is possible that something on your computer is blocking Excel from accessing the Internet. That would be my first guess. Do you have a firewall installed that might be responsible?

all my firewalls are off...still getting the same message....

I typed it exactly like it pops up and that period is at the end

Right, I think they add the period just in the message. You are bringing up the page from my link though, correct?

Did you try just updating the ADP itself, not running a full update? If you go the ADP tab, or lets say QB tab, click on one of the player names and right-click and choose Edit Query. A pop-up window should open. Do you see the HTML page come up then?

Great stuff Dan. Thanks for reporting back. I had another user who, no matter what we did, Buddy would not open without showing some error in Excel. Excel thought there was unreadable content. It worked last year and he made no changes to his computer so it made zero sense it was giving this error.

Our customer was very patient and persistent. Even though his version of Mac Office showed the most up to date version, he reinstalled it and then no longer received any error messages. Very odd. Sounds similar to what you dealt with. Glad you got it figured out.
