Groundhog 24 Posted September 8, 2006 I'm thinking of making the following trade offer: Give up: Galloway Marion Barber Receive: Droughns Wilford The goal being to beef up my RBs. Here's my roster as it stands now (12-team league): QB: McNabb, Simms RB: LT, Gore, Marion Barber, Turner WR: Wayne, Galloway, Housh, Drew Bennett TE: Watson, Klopfenstein K: Kaeding D: Eagles What worries me is the RB depth, with Gore's injury history and Barber being essentially a 3rd down back who won't see THAT many touches unless JJones gets injured. So I'd give up a strong #2 WR and a backup RB, to get a much better RB prospect and a weaker WR. Probably elevates Housh into the #2 WR spot as I would rank him higher than Wilford. The other guy has listed both Droughns and Wilford as "on the block". I think part of the rationale for him is that he has a ton of guys with week 6 byes, and he's trying to diversify so that he won't get an automatic L that week. FBH ** 0 Posted September 8, 2006 I don't think that it is an unreasonable offer, but I don't know whether I would accept it either. RB are very valuable, and his ability to make this deal will depend on the depth that he has available. If Droughns is his RB2 (which he should be in a 12 teamer) and he doesn't have much depth behind him, he is going to have difficulty pulling the trigger. If he has JJ it might make him think a little harder about it though, as I expect Barber and JJ to have about a 60/40 split when all is said and done this season.
