Wheaties 0 Posted September 16, 2006 Well, I have no confidence with Jake Delhomme this week. It appears Steve Smith is going to sit again. Delhomme looked clueless last week and I expect more of the same this week. Scoring System 30 passing = 1 point 10 rushing = 1 point All TD's = 6 points INT = (-2) points QB - Need 1 Jake Delhomme (at MIN) Byron Leftwich (vs PIT) - Don't like the matchup Steve McNair (vs OAK) - Will he even need to pass? Also available on the free agent list. . . Alex Smith (vs SF) Brad Johnson (vs CAR) David Carr (at IND) Philip Rivers (vs TEN) Charlie Frye (at CIN) Jon Kitna (at CHI) Chris Simms (at ATL) Rex Grossman (vs DET) Kerry Collins (at SD) I was leaning towards starting Steve McNair, but now wavering towards picking up Alex Smith. Thoughts?
Keyser Sose 0 Posted September 16, 2006 I agree with your instincts on bad weeks for Delhomie, Lefty and MacDowell's (our buns HAVE NO seasame seeds) I'd encourage you to roll the dice on Rivers vs. a weak TEN matchup. You might even look at Brad Johnson. This advice is for this week ONLY! Very weird QB week for you...

You might even look at Brad Johnson. This advice is for this week ONLY! Very weird QB week for you... I thought about Rivers, but I don't believe he's going to need to pass much (yet again). Last week, he threw 11 passes against Oakland. I'm sure LT is going to run buckwild on Tennessee. Brad Johnson never puts up big stats, so he would be comparable to starting McNair... I think. I'm still leaning towards Alex Smith. Definitely a weird QB week for me. Though, having a healthy Steve Smith in the lineup would've made it easier. PS: Great movie quote... one of the best comedies in my lifetime.
Melvinbet 5 Posted September 16, 2006 I also would go McNair or Smith. McNair will get you points. Smith MAY get you more points. He's not afraid to air it out. See mine please
seh2000 5 Posted September 16, 2006 Mc Nair will still get 225 and 1 or 2 scores. Give A. Smith another week before picking him up.
Paper Champ 0 Posted September 16, 2006 I would go with McNair. Juicy matchup and apt to put up bigger numbers than Johnson. Delhomme is not good without Smith. Please help Thanks! http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=233454
donkeyjotes 54 Posted September 16, 2006 McNair is the safest play. Delhomme without Smith doesn't look so good so far. McNair won't throw for 300 and 3 but 200 and 2 is very probable. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=233461
sezu 0 Posted September 16, 2006 Safe play - McNair Yeah, they're gonna run all over Oakland, but he'll get his numbers in too. Interesting plays - Smith and Rivers Either could have a nice coming out party this week, but are likely to make mistakes too. I'd say McNair. They'll have the ball all game long. So many chances for a little crossing pattern to break big... thanks for mine
believe_in_gibbs 0 Posted September 16, 2006 It's much too early to grab A.Smith. Vernon Davis aside, the 49ers lack in the pass catching department. We can't overlook the fact that it's the beginning of season 2 for Smith. Brad is tempting. He knows the offense and has a wr in Williamson that will have a break out year. That said, I don't see him putting up stellar numbers. McNair should put up similar stats this weekend. Skip the wire this week. See Mine
