Trade Help for S.Alexander

Recommended Posts

Someone offered to trade me Shaun Alexander for Westbrook and Wayne... I'm really thinking of this because I have so much depth and Westy is pretty hurt. I'm worried about SA, but his schedule later in the season and with Larry Johnson on my team would be unreal... what do you think of trade?

Start 2 WR, 2 RB, and 1 Flex

1pt per 10yds, 6pts per TD, no PPR

RB: Larry Johnson, Brian Westbrook, Joseph Addai, Laurence Maroney, Vernand Morency

WR: Torry Holt, Reggie Wayne, Marques Colston, Greg Jennings, Deion Branch

QB: Rex Grossman and Brett Favre

K: Jeff Wilkins

Def: Pittsburgh

TE: Jeremy Shockey

i'd do it. your team has nice depth so you can get by with Maroney until Alexander gets back and losing Wayne won't be so bad since you have Colston and Jennings. then when Alexander comes back you will wreck people with him and LJ. plus, Wesbrook is always hurt. and there's speculation that he may have to have surgery to clean out the knee which could be 4-6 weeks.

Giving up Westbrook and Wayne is too much: Alexander has also had his share of injury issues. I'd try for Westbrook and Colston/Jennings, maybe throwing in Wilkins to sweeten the deal. Keep in mind, when healthy, Westbrook is scoring a LOT more than Alexander.

Thanks for mine!

It's a tough line to walk... I want to come back and say Westy and Colston/Jennings/Shockey, but I'm worried even if he agrees it gets vetoed by my league. Any ideas what i can counter with?

His team...

RB: Shaun Alexander, Reggie Bush, Reuben Droughns, Chester Taylor, Mike Bell

WR: Larry Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson, Matt Jones

QB: Plummer, Delhomme and Leftwich

K: Robbie Gould

Def: Jets

TE: Ben Watson

I agree that Westbrook AND Wayne is too much to give up. Even healthy, Alexander was not producing like he was last year. Not his fault so much as loss of Hutchinson. I dare say Alexander and Westbrook will end up about even production wise when the season ends.

My roster question for the week

I wouldn't do it. You really want to rely on Colston and Branch as your #2 WR the rest of the way?

And this year Alexander hasn't even looked good when he was healthy....

At least when Westbrook has played he has tore it up.

wow- i didn't think so many people would not like the trade...

Shaun Alexander's Schedule:

Min @KC Oak StL @SF GB @Den @Ari SF

wasn't he playing hurt the first few weeks after the foot injury in preseason or week 1? and also westbrook is hurt too, still has a bye week coming up and may have his knee scoped

not trying to convince myself... but do you all really think he won't be solid with that team and schedule down the stretch?

I wouldn't take it. Who knows how long SA will be out. Foot injuries take longer than two weeks to heal. He's a big back and puts a lot of weight when cutting. Plus SA, w/o Hutchinson, and the entire Seattle offense isn't looking like the same team as last year. And I'm a Seattlite...
