Backed into a Corner: Roster Help Badly Needed

Recommended Posts

My 4-1 team (roster in signature) isn't really as good as it's record. I am just lucking out and playing some bad teams right now. Injuries and byes are doing a number on me now. Also, my league doesn't allow trades so all work is via WW.

I am in a corner this week. I need another WR to have a legal lineup, or a TE. (Starting requirements also in signature.)

I dropped Harrison to get Keith (crazy but I worked, I won and have won 4 straight) just prior to the game as some Rotoworld news at the time had him with a sprained knee not just a bruise (now supposedly he could've played if it was the playoffs, who knows what to believe), he's on bye week 6, and has been disappointing so far. I also figured WRs are easier to find than are RBs. I could've released AJ instead but I just picked him up and felt he had more upside than Harrison once back. Driver and Marshall were in my lineup and I couldn't drop them without disqualifying my team.

KJ is out on bye, as is Addai/Keith.

So I need to make a decision...I still need one more WR for this week. I play a bad team (0-5) BUT his lineup recovers this week possibly:

QB: Bulger

RBs: Jacobs, Rudi, Maroney, Norwood

WR/TEs: Chambers, Coles, R. Williams, T. Gonzalez

K: Rackers

D: Bears

So I need opinions. Do I keep Keith? Addai should be back week 7 but though not a fan of handcuffing it looks like Keith might be an important guy to keep. Do I drop Big Ben and figure to roll with Palmer the rest of the way? Do I drop Ward or Benson or Taylor or KJ? If so I can get another WR but I still probably can't get back Harrison since he's on bye and doesn't help me this week. WRs on the WW include:

Porter

Engram

Stallworth

James Jones

Jacoby Jones

Mason

Northcutt

Sucks that you had to drop Harrison. I think despite his poor performance starting out, he's too valuable to leave out there for the vultures.

Put a gun to my head, and I'd probably drop KJ and Big Ben and try to get Harrison and Stallworth. The fact that you're 4-1 means you probably won't get a high waiver priority. Nevertheless, those are the guys I'd try to get. I also wouldn't drop Keith just yet until the Addai situation is sussed out.

Hope that helps. Now, maybe you can help me out...

WR-wise Mason is the must have. So many looks...can't ask for more than that.

I'd drop Ward at this point. Jacobs is back in a big way (literally).

If you're not going to start Big Ben over Palmer (haven't look at schedules but even as well as Big Ben has been playing I don't think I bench Palmer...ever) then it's okay to drop him.

I would look at mason. He is consistant 8 rec for 80 yards, will squeek out a TD here and there.

Porter is also a possibility, Culpepper seems to like him and he has TD potential. I would drop Ward, jacobs has the job now.

Wait, Marvin Harrison is on the WW?... I would drop Big Ben and KJ and pick up Harrison and Mason for sure if you can.

Thanks for help with mine.

I agree with this although I might go with dropping Benson instead of KJ and I would consider Porter over Mason although Mason is probably the safer bet.

I'd drop Keith and add Mason. He's good for 6-8 catches for 60-90 yards each week.
