SaintsInDome2006 441 Posted December 12, 2007 I have the big semifinal playoff game this week and have some decisions to make. Does anyone have any advice on any of the below - who to start at RB2 and WR3 - that you think could put me over the top? I will answer others. My roster is below. 1. I need a RB2 and may have to make some waiver claims to make it happen: Here are the matchups with my current RB2 choices A. Peterson (Chi) (@ Min.) Dayne (inj.) Norwood (@TB) Travis Henry (@HOU) Plus these WW gems, in order of my requests (adding 2, dropping Norwood, then Dayne): 1. Darius Walker (vs DEN) (Dayne could still play) 2. Gado (vs BAL) (Chatman could still play) 3. Chester Taylor vs (Chi) (he's been scoring but last week just 8 carries??? Now, HE's Boom or Bust) (he just got dropped in someone's deperation bid to grab Marv Harrison) 4. Gilbert Harris (vs TEN) 5. Chatman (vs BAL) -- I missed out on Stecker, who I would be starting over all these guys if I could. -- is there ANY way Adrian Peterson (Chi) does anything against Minny's run defense, especially after last week's 3.5 point effort (or at least that's what he got in my league). He had been pretty productive the 2 weeks before this past game. Just stick with him? --- Dayne performed well for a short while as a RB2 in this scheme and DEN, despite last week, has been terrible against the run. take a look at Walker's stats at Notre Dame, pretty nice, and he can catch the ball and I'm in a 0.5 PPR league. 2. I also would like to bolster up my WR corps, and maybe spot fill in someone for Mason, my WR3 who just put up a poor number against the Colts: Here are the matchups with my current WR choices, and I start 3 Edwards (done deal) Burleson (@CAR) (I'm liking this matchup) Mason (@MIA) (hit or miss) Here's what I have as 2 pickups, in order of WW selection (dropping Lav Coles, then Bryant Johnson): 1. A. Gonzalez (@OAK) (Wk 16 = vs HOU) 2. Jerehme Urban (@NO) (Wk 16 = vs ATL) 3. Jabar Gaffney (vs NYJ) (Wk 16 = vs MIA) Standard Scoring + 0.5 PPR Start 1QB/2RB/3WR/1TE/1DST/1K * = current starter K Warner* S Young* R Dayne J Norwood A Peterson (Chi)* (change?) T Henry B Edwards* N Burleson* D.J. Hackett D Mason* (change?) B Johnson L Coles J Witten* N Folk* D Colts*
Slick20 0 Posted December 12, 2007 I would go with Walker as your running back. Denver stinks against the run and Andre Johnson should keep them from putting eight in the box even with Champ Bailey covering him. Not to mention Dayne looked pretty gimpy coming off the field last week. AP2 is garbage in my opinion and faces a defense that stops the run very well. At receiver I think i would roll the dice with A. Gonzalez as he is starting to know his role in the offense and Peyton is building up trust with him. I think he will get several looks as Oakland gives their attention to Reggie Wayne.
jacarter 0 Posted December 12, 2007 I am in agreement w/ Slick. Go w/ Walker (if Dayne is out) and Gonzalez. If Dayne is healthy i would play him. Peterson vs. Min - I don't foresee any more output than what he had against Was Dayne - inj Norwood - who knows when he get a bigger role Henry - looks like young he may get a bit of goal line work, but young will carry load A. Gonzalez - Manning is really looking to him Jerehme Urban - Boldin could be back Jabar Gaffney - i know he's scored 2 weeks in a row, but i don't see it continuing. Now that he will draw some attention, Brady will find someone else.
Go long 0 Posted December 12, 2007 I agree with the previous post. Go with Walker as he will be playing at home and does have something to prove. The Houston Chronicle states that because the game is on Thursday, they do not feel that Dayne will be ready to go. Go with the hot hand in Gonzales as he will get many opportunities. Agreed...Gonzo and Walker for sure..although Henry has found the endzone and is always a decent start.

Norwood is sharing time with Dunn and TB actually has a pretty good Run D. Peterson has a very tough match up and Orton is going to be playing QB. T.Henry is nice but you are already starting S.Young. R.Dayne is injured and IND is starting to play much better against the run. On the WR3 for sure grab Gonzo. As long as Harrison is out Gonzo will continue to improve. Teams are going to focus on Wayne/Clark/Addai and that should leave plenty of looks for Gonzo. I would also grab Gaffney this week. He has put up solid #s for 3 straight weeks now. So much attnetion is being given to Moss/Welker that Gaffney is going to get 6-8 targets each week and several of those will be deep. If it were me I would start Edwards/B.Johnson(Pope just went down for the season and Boldin still out)/either Gonzo or Gaffney. Heck I would not even be affraid to start Edwards/Gonzo/Gaffney as Gonzo and Gaffney both have great matchups. Good luck and thanks for seeing mine.
