Should I make any moves or stay put?

Recommended Posts

Here is my team:

Start: 2 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 RB/WR

8 team league, I drafted 6th overall. Brady was my keeper. Other Keepers: L.T., A.P., Brian Westbrook, Steven Jackson, Joseph Addai, Willie Parker and Marshawn Lynch

QB

Brady

Derek Anderson

Kurt Warner

RB

Gore

Larry Johnson

Ricky Williams

Darren McFadden (Got him in like the 10th round!?!)

Rudi Johnson

WR

Larry Fitzgerald

Marques Colston

Calvin Johnson

Dwayne Bowe

Kevin Curtis

Javon Walker

Bobby Engram

TE

Kellen Winslow

Now, I drafted Curtis and Engram knowing that they were hurt, but it was round 17 and 18 I got them in, so no big loss. Rudi Johnson I was initially going to drop, but I was then thinking I have enough depth between WR and RB that I can see where/if he lands with another team. Javon Walker I am not sure of at all.

Here are the guys still available:

Courtney Taylor

DeSean Jackson

Ray Rice

Ronald Curry

Justin Fargas

Felix Jones

Kenny Watson

Kevin Walter

Deuce McAllister

Should I drop Johnson, Curtis, Walker or Engram and grab any of these?

Will answer yours.

is this an 8 team leauge? Your team is stacked.

I would try to trade Derick Anderson for either a WR or RB. He is good trade bait, but i dont think he will have a good year so trade him fast or you wont be able to get anything for him. Pick up Felix Jones and Ray Rice..... Thats what i would do.

Actually, it is. Not all of us play in 16 team leagues. Although I am in one of those also.

This draft just went really, really weird. Most of the time, there isn't a RB to be had after the 2nd round. Brady was my keeper.

thanks for answering mine...

your team looks so stacked, i realize it is a smaller league, plus a keeper league.

you look like you know what you are doing....calvin johnson could be your best WR!

i have ray rice, think he could be huge if mcgahee goes down...go with your gut and drop one of your rbs and pickem up.

wish i could offer more, i don't have experience in keeper leagues/small leauges.

If you dont win it all, let me know why!

Loving your team... Dont really see any place you need to improve at least not from the wwire. The only moves I could see would be Ray Ray for Rudi and De Jackson for Bobby. You are so deep keep Curtis just in case he comes back healthy.

Thanks for mine and popping my bubble about the Rudi talk (kills my K Smith pick) didnt hear the news today till after draft. Hopfully he will find another home.

Great team. It's hard for me to judge relative quality in an 8 team league because I've never been in one, but I don't see any weaknesses.

RBs aren't the best for an 8-team league, but they're not the worst either. All in all this is a pretty solid team. :music_guitarred:

I'd edit your original post to include that this is an 8-teamer, just so people know right away.

Your team is stacked except RB which will depend on how Williams or Johnson does. You could ship off Warner now while his value is super high along wth Williams whos value is high and get a really good back. but other than that dont tinker too much until after the season starts.

Team looks good! You have great depth at QB and if points are not taken away for INTs, all could step in and post good numbers.

I am concerned about:

1. your RB depth. Gore will be the workhorse in the SF offense but they are just not very good. I am not sold on LJ for much the same reason that Gore worries me...the offense is not good.

2. TE depth. Winslow is great but seldom seems to practice because of his knee. He brings it on game day and puts up great numbers, but I think you should try and deal for some depth. Some names that may complement Kellen Winslow are Zach Miller, Scheffler or Vernon Davis. They could also probably be had for cheap.

Your WR core is deep and I would try to trade a WR to improve depth at RB and/or TE.

Thanks for seeing mine. I'd drop Curtis or Engram for Desean Jackson. I think Jackson will have a great first half and will see a lot of targets from McNabb. Can't usually put a lot of stock in the preseason, but Jackson is the excpetion since he will be a big part of Philly's offense with all their injuries. Jackson was like the #4 WR in the NFL during preseaon. That's a sign of things to come especially early on. You'll get nothing from Curtis or Engram while they are hurt. I am very familiar with Curtis as a Rams fan and as a speed guy he will not bounce back fast or effectively from any injury that effects his ability to run. He will be an absolute bust this season. Engram probably won't be much better but will probably be somewhat productive in the second half of the season, which is more than I can say for Curtis, who might be out of a starting job by the time he returns from his hernia

Done. Thanks.

Love the team, but light at RB, not a fan of LJ over the whole season. Trade either warner or anderson and grab rice and Deshaun Jackson. J Walker worries me a lot.

Yeah. I wasn't sure about Walker. I guess I was just taking a flier on him as well.

-2 points per INT. Regarding my RB depth, I posted who the keeper was for every team. Gore and Johnson were pretty much the best available by the time the keepers were gone, and it got down to the 6th pick, which is where I took Gore (technically, I guess that would have made him the 2.6 pick, or 14th overall player selected).

Miller and Scheffler can be had for real cheap. Free Agency cheap. Other TE available in FA: Donald Lee, Desmond Clark, Greg Olsen, Alge Crumpler, Randy McMichael

I would grab Ray Rice at least for this week as he is going to be huge against the Bengals.

But who do I start between RB and WR if I do that? Any suggestions?

I was thinking about this for Curtis. Also the fact that 200+ yards and 3 TD's came in one game last year (Against my Lions).
