OK, trade deadline is fast approaching (14 NOV).

I play in a 12 team keeper league using IDP players.

Would like your opinion on whether I have any areas of my team that need to be strengthened as I make my playoff run. (Our league scoring format is at the bottom of this post)

Our playoffs start WK 15 and my team in currently in 2nd place at 6-3 (one game off the leader).

The only area I am concerned about is my QB situation. (As you will see below) I have Romo....should I trade him and try to pick up somebody like M. Ryan (remember this is a keeper league so I am looking at next year's roster as well....)

We start the following:

1 QB

3 WR

2 RB

1 TE

1 K

4 DL

2 DB

We have 4 Bench spots

My current Roster (BLACK=Original Starting Team (K)=kept from last year's team / RED=Acquired in Trade / BLUE = Picked up off WW) just wanted to break it down this way so that some of you (yes I've seen the posts) don't think that this is not a deep league and that I was able to draft all of these players at the beginning of the year:

QB

Tony Romo - DAL (K)

Eli Manning - NYG

WR

Greg Jennings - GB

Brandon Marshall - DEN (K)

Roddy White - ATL

Kevin Curtis - PHI

Antonio Bryant - TBB

RB

Brandon Jacobs - NYG (K)

Brian Westbrook - PHI (K)

Steven Jackson - STL

TE:

visanthe Shiancoe - MIN

K:

Mason Crosby - GB

DL:

Jonathan Vilma - NO

Terrell Suggs - BAL

Chad Greenway - MIN

Stephen Cooper - SD

DB:

Cortland Finnegan - TEN

Cedric Griffin - MIN

Sorry for the long post, but I believe that if I ask you guys a question and would like an answer, I should provide you with the info to make your decision.

you include an abundance of information and a very general question. think thats why people dont respond. overall your team looks good. my only suggestions owuld be to try and upgrade TE and find better matchups for your RBs. Westrbook and Jacobs especially have some brutal matchups those weeks, as does Romo. maybe try and deal some of those stars for ones with better matchups. guys that come to mind are AP, LT, Brown, Gore. you should be able to get a lot if offering up westbrook or romo. look to trade jacobs too. good luck.

Whew - there's a decent bit to digest! While I'm not as up on your playoff matchups, agree TE is your weakest spot, but not sure how far would go to better it. Shiancoe could be a nice surprise and to get a top TE would likely be too costly. You might end up losing rather than gaining fantasy points. As was said, Romo and Jacobs could be packaged up to help better your QB/RB towards the playoffs... Sorry couldn't help more on this one!

Looks like you need to upgrade at TE and possibly some depth at WR (not sure how long Sjax is out). Other than that - very solid. Maybe consider trading some of your depth at WR for TE improvement.

Thanks for looking at mine.

Your lineup is pretty solid, assuming Romo is back to form upon his return. TE is weak, but I don't think you're getting fair value on any trade you could make for a TE. I'd stand pat and ride the wave.

Thanks for mine.

Thanks for your responses guys.

Yeah my TE spot is pretty weak.

At one time I had Tony Gonzalez but was offered the following trade (during week 7) and thought that it was too good to pass up:

My Team Gives: Tony Gonzalez (TE), Leron McClain (RB), Steve Smith (WR)

For: Greg Jennings (WR), Steven Jackson (RB), Billy Miller

I immediately dumped Miller and picked up Fasano off the WW wire....now I have Schiancoe.

Schiancoe has been a "steady" performer over the season producing 1 Breakout Game, 4 Quality Games, 2 Average Games, and 1 Costly Game. His SOS looks favorable all the way until WK 17 (championship game....if I make it that far) as he is (favorable match-ups in green):

WK10 v GB

WK11 v TB

WK12 v JAX

WK13 v CHI

WK14 v DET

WK15 v ARZ

WK16 v ATL

WK17 v NYG

I could go back and try to get Tony Gonzalez from the team that traded me in the first place but I think he might ask for too much. Here is his roster:

QB: Peyton Manning, Marc Bulger

RB: Adrian Peterson (MIN), Tim Hightower, DeAngelo Williams

WR: Calvin Johnson, Chad Johnson, Steve Smith, Roy Williams, Santonio Holmes

TE: Tony Gonzalez

The TEs out there on the waiver wire at the time of this post are:

Tony Scheffler (DEN)

Alex Smith (TBB)

David Martin (MIA)

Daniel Graham (DEN)

Billy Miller (NO)

Marcedes Lewis (JAC)

Donald Lee (GB)

None of these guys really peak my interest (however both Alex Smith and David Martin have a little easier SOS).

Thoughts?
