PATSSOX 22 Posted November 25, 2010 Need some WR help. I have Brady in a standard scoring league. NON-PPR Welker vs Detriot on Thanksgiving or Crabtree vs Arizona on Monday night Im leaning toward Crabtree because im not so sure the Pats will throw it a ton tomorrow and even if they do Brady spreads the ball around so much. And Arizona not great vs WRs 8th worse at 24.1 pts a game vs WRs. Detriot is 12th toughest at 20.3 Help me and leave your link please
j0ker 3 Posted November 25, 2010 Tough call as you know Welker will still get targets but maybe 1/10 chance to score. San Fran has just looked terrible even with the talent they have with Gore, Crabtree, Davis etc. I would lean towards Crabtree as the better chance to score than Welker but don't be surprised if the red zone looks go to Vernon Davis. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=377411

Plus if Welker has bad day it leaves me in big hole with him and Brady. Also its not 100% sure that Davis will play and they better move the ball this week or all coaches and players may get sh!t canned THANKS
MDC 8,091 Posted November 25, 2010 I don't feel strongly either way so this is entirely a guess but I'd go with Welker, because he's the better receiver on the better offense and neither player has a matchup advantage. Welker is pretty much a lock to get you some points. Crabtree has had one really good game (100 and a score) but otherwise hasn't done much and he was abysmal last week. Even if you pick wrong here I don't see Crabtree outperforming Welker to the point where you're going to care much.
Waias15 1 Posted November 25, 2010 Sorry to throw in an opposite look, but I'd go with Welker. He has been slowly getting worked more and more back into the offense since Moss left, and possibly developing that connecion back. I know the Lions arent exactly what they used to be, but they are still the Lions. That Cleveland game certainly stoked some flames, and I think Brady could have a field day tomorrow. I think Welker will finish the season strong. SF has looked abysmal lately.
simenson 0 Posted November 25, 2010 In my league Arizona is giving up 29 points to receivers per week (on average), while Detroit is giving up 25. Crabtree has not caught more than 5 passes and surpassed 60 yards on the road this year. All his "big" games have been at home. And, I'm not a huge SF QB fan, whoever is starting. Welker unfortunately, plays for a QB that spreads the ball around. But in the last two week he has 3 receptions for 140+ yds with a TD. NE might also run the ball more if they are up on Det. I would say if you want consistency play Welker. If you need points to get into the playoffs and need to take a chance on a player go with Crabtree.
Big Blue 06 196 Posted November 25, 2010 Thanks for responding to mine. I would go with Welker here. I don't trust anyone other than Gore on the 49ers and I don't start any of them. Welker will get some catches and maybe you'll luck out with a TD.
PATSSOX 22 Posted November 25, 2010 THANKS guys Good stuff Im also thinking that if Brady and Welker do not have great days atleast i still have a shot. My lineup is solid enought i can win with Brady getting 12-17 but if i get 12 from Brady and 5 from Welker i may be in big trouble. Only if Floyd did not tweak his fagina
stinkerbe11 0 Posted November 25, 2010 Welker is the safer play. Can you really trust the SF offense?
ping 0 Posted November 25, 2010 In a standard scoring league, I'd probably go with Crabtree over Welker this week. Welker is one of several options for NE (and you never know which guy or guys will be the primary target there from week to week) while Crabtree is the #1 WR in SF and, with Davis dinged up, could be in for a big game against the horrible AZ pass defense (of course, Detroit's D isn't anything special either). Thanks for mine! Please chime in on my other post. Thanks!
krusin 0 Posted November 25, 2010 Thanks for mine, I would go with Welker. Crabtree is very hit or miss, and Brady has been looking Welker's way a lot in the last 2 games.
PATSSOX 22 Posted November 25, 2010 Of course Welker had 21 pts Atleast i had Brady and his
Waias15 1 Posted November 25, 2010 I figured for sure you would go with Welker. Always trust the fellow Pats/Sox fan from Mass.
