I changed the title to reflect the conservative frustration. Attacking Kamala on the issues doesn’t seem to be getting anywhere (though it’s still probably the best option). So they’re attacking her race, and trying to attack Walz on tampons and on his military record. All of that is total waste of time. It will have no effect (or a negative effect for Trump.) Conservatives probably need to hope for an economic calamity or new world crisis to change the current dynamics. But what an awful thing to hope for!

Yeah none of this is going to matter in the slightest. And if Vance tries to bring it up in a debate he’s just going to look foolish. People like Walz. They don’t like Vance. It’s that simple. Vance is an embarrassment. Walz is a guy people admire. Walz is a normal dude and Vance is…weird.

If Tapper said that then he’s ignorant. I’m not going to say that the Palestinian issue didn’t play a role in the decision not to choose Shapiro, it very well may have. But not because Shapiro is Jewish; it’s because Shapiro has close ties to Netanyahu and was also a very vocal critic of the campus protests in his state. But all of this is secondary. The main reason that Kamala chose Walz appears to be far more simple: she really likes him and trusts him and the guys got great charisma.

Most of the items @RLLD listed happened under Trump’s watch; there was nothing he did to cause them. Of the few items listed that Trump played a hand in, I strongly disagree that they were good for this country. An example: leaving the Iran nuclear deal was a disaster that we are seeing playing out in real time. We may be on the brink of a war very soon between Israel and Iran, and if so it will have many of its roots in that idiotic decision by Trump. That being said I want to praise @RLLD for being willing to actually to discuss issues with regard to Donald Trump; that’s exceedingly rare in this forum.

Trump didn’t offer a reason for appointing him to the bipartisan council. But I don’t think he would appoint a leftist to that, do you? That’s just an assumption on my part. I do know that when Walz was in Congress he was thought of as a “blue dog”.

It’s interesting that all the descriptions of Walz as a progressive refer to his record on social issues but not on economic ones. Economically he appears to be pro-business and very centrist, (though he is pro-union.) Trump considered him so pro-business that in 2019 Walz was appointed to Trump’s bipartisan governor’s council.

The Dow Jones continues to rebound this morning so one of my biggest concerns (regarding the election) is being relieved at least for the moment. Another big concern (not only for the election) is that Iran may attack Israel at any moment.

Sure. There’s nothing wrong with feelings so long as they’re validated by facts. Right now almost all the facts are good so I feel pretty pleased. If the facts changed I might not be so pleased. But why worry about that? Right now I’m happy clappy.

First I don’t acknowledge that anything you wrote is true. Second, I can only tell you what the recent polling says: black voters are now more unified behind Kamala Harris than they’ve been behind anyone since Barack Obama in 2008. That’s what the numbers say. You’re free not to believe them and I’m free to be skeptical of your opinion.

Let me be more specific: @Reality asserts, without any evidence whatsoever, that Josh Shapiro wasn’t chosen because the Democratic Party is anti-Semitic. He wrote “that’s literally what happened” except that neither he nor any conservative have any evidence of this baseless claim. But why should this be different from the thousand other baseless claims that conservatives make these days? Conservatism has become a movement based on feelings- bad ones.
