I’m willing to question the media now.

It's a simple yes/no question.....because your answer seems to indicate you might not know......I'll give you a hint- it has nothing to do with calling the media liars. -

So you don't understand why the part I bolded-specifically- is funny? -

I'm speaking to the bolded point specifically- do you understand why that was hilarious? -

The bolded part is what I was referring to. Do you understand why that is hilarious? On the broader scale of what you said- I don't know if it's lying so much as selling their pitch as truth. All media does it across every spectrum. I don't pick and choose one side as being above it over another. -

This is pretty hilarious. I assume you know why. -

It's funny they do too. Eternal does it- Hardcore dummy does it- as if I said "Yeah...cool...burn and destroy cities." I was against it then. I'm against it now. Not sure why its a gotcha -

You always say this "your side" stuff. I'm not on the left. The only thing I fully lock and stock go with on them is they are better for the profession I have chosen. So my vote for a lot of people on the left has to deal with self preservation.....but I also vote for Republicans as well in certain scenarios. Straight line voting is for dopes -
What positions do you anticipate Cheney, Kinzinger, Pence, Ryan, or the rest to fill in the new Trump admin? Chances any of them get support to win a seat back anywhere anytime soon
-
Keep telling yourself that Mike Pence pulled himself out of the party. I like when people divorce themselves from reality.

Trump talk only- no Eagles talk allowed (Steelers talk is OK though)
Sean Mooney replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
I've been very clear across the board saying they need to focus back on kitchen table issues. But I'm also pointing out there are things to build on and that they may not be quite as far gone from a counting stance as they appear at first glance. -
"Extricated themselves"? Mike Pence and Kevin McCarthy are opposed to conservative ideals? Liz Cheney from the war hawkish Cheney family is opposed to conservative ideals?? Simple fact is they dared to question what Trump was doing and they got run out on rails. People wanted to kill Mike Pence....but it's on him?

Discussion of Concerns for Trump Presidency

Yes...again it goes back to what I always say about perception and reality in all of this. Also, I think too many people don't understand how ingrained illegal immigration is in the agriculture industry. And the price points of things are built around it. Take immigration out of farming and replace them with minimum wage American workers and you are going to have much more overhead cost across the board. Additionally- it might also encourage farms to move away from manual labor if it seems more worth their while to just take the hit and move to automation processes as much as possible. This goes back to what I said in- I don't think people understand the entire scope of what they are arguing for. -

So one perhaps silver lining the Democrats could take from this election is this: In the 7 battleground states there were 5 senate races- 4 of them were won by Democrats with the one in PA won by a guy who is more deep state than anything and had to try twice to gain Trump's love: In Nevada- Trump had 734,609 votes to Kamala's 688,981....Sam Brown lost the Senate getting 663K votes to Jacky Rosen's 685K- In Arizona- Trump had 1.7M to Kamala's 1.5M...Kari Lake lost getting 1.5M to Gallego's 1.6M In Wisconsin- Trump had 1.7M to Kamala's 1.66M...Eric Hovde lost getting 1.64M to Baldwin's 1.67M In Michigan- Trump had 2.8M to Kamala's 2.72 M...Mike ROgers lost with 2.69M to Slotkin's 2.70M In PA- Trump had 3.51M to Kamala's 3.37...McCormick won with 3.37M to Casey's 3.36M So in every race- the GOP senator candidate trailed Trump's voting total by varying numbers. In 3 of the 5 races the Democrat candidate was ahead of Kamala. It feels like another example of- people like Trump doing Trump stuff and not other people doing Trump stuff. I do think Republicans need to be careful about where they go because there is a pathway in which the party falls apart to some degree at the top once Trump is gone. A lot of it will depend on how much confidence people will have in Vance after these 4 years -

Yup....the majority of this board is hardcore righties so it's natural they would get poked at more. If this board was mostly hardcore lefties I'd poke at them the whole time..... -
Democrats and the Case of Mistaken Identity Politics
Sean Mooney replied to Sean Mooney's topic in The Geek Club
What do you see as the distinction between the two. -
Do we think Republicans don't eat their own as well? We could ask Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, Paul Ryan, John Bolton, Kevin McCarthy, Mike Pence, etc The simple fact of politics is- you are useful until you are not- then you are forgotten and brushed aside for the next sycophant to step in. It isn't a left or right issue- it's a politics issue.

I've got a hunch that you are in the minority on this. Also, it isn't even about paying more- it's about the willingness of someone to do the work for the amount of money paid. Someone could be given 15 dollars an hour to help push cows into a milker and they'd still want 20. -

Came across this article linked on another website I go to. Apparently AOC went on her Instagram and asked people "If you voted for Trump & Me or Trump & Dem in your area- can you tell me why?" Some of the responses are interesting. A lot of them boil down to- people think Dems are better at local levels and less so on a national level. Someone hilariously said "I wanted change, but I also wanted to put brakes on him..." I'll give her this- I don't particularly care for AOC but she has kind of risen above a lot of the rest of the trash group she associated with and you can see how she at least will try to understand the way people think. She still will try to hammer her views in at times but of all of them she seems to be the one most likely to reach across the aisle if need be.... https://www.jezebel.com/aoc-asked-voters-why-they-voted-for-her-trump-the-answers-are-interesting -
What will President Trump do about the January 6 defendants?
Sean Mooney replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
Backing up to the Biden talk a minute...if he chooses not to pardon his son even knowing that might open Hunter up to an investigation (although Trump has floated pardoning Hunter or just letting it go) how do you view that move by Biden? -
In an unrelated note: do sportsbooks take bets on women's volleyball?

On this though- the entire farming and agriculture industry is built on undocumented immigrant labor. Undocumented farm workers make up approximately 50% of the farm labor workforce. And people in the dairy industry estimate that the price of milk would double without their undocumented workers. According to CMS estimates, there are approximately 283,000 undocumented immigrants who work in the United States as agricultural workers. These individuals make up approximately 4 percent of the total undocumented workforce in United States.- that means there are almost 7 million undocumented workers in the US (and some estimates have it as high as 11 million). Take those people out and now you have 11 million jobs needing to be filled with people asking for more money. And when those jobs aren't filled- they will be cut leading to supply issues. -
Bill Burr's monologue from this past Saturday. It was hilarious watching people react to this on Twitter. Of course a bunch of dopey far left people were clutching pearls over it all about "Oh, COVID jokes about the Chinese, telling women to it up...this is Trump's America." They are jokes. Jokes delivered by a guy who isn't a fan of Trump overall so as it is. It's good to see that the far left people are not learning any lessons from all of this and instead just want to cry louder. Mainstream democrats need to just tell the far left to piss off and grow the hell up. How can a bunch of people who grew up watching South Park and Family Guy not understand mocking everyone as a joke?

The easiest answer to immigration is pick some countries where the most people come from- send weepaws to one, send Hardcore Troubadouche to another.....after about an hour those governments will be like "Okay, we will take back everyone gratis just please take back these chuds. They are your problem." Then we should laugh at those governments and say- nah suckers....
