I cannot understand how so many of you just refuse to believe that riots and protests can coexist. This started as peaceful protest, but was then co-opted by a criminal element that is completely separate from those that are there trying to be heard while exercising their rights. The criminals riot. The protestors stay peaceful then go home. J6 was a peaceful protest. Then a relatively small % of those people started to riot and commit crimes. Same with summer 2020. This always happens. The incessant need to score points on each other is so fuking tiresome.

Good post. I don't necessarily subscribe to your opinions on people being a universal let down, but otherwise I'm in your boat. I was going to jokingly just say "getting high" inspires me, but it's more like getting high in the right setting, a.k.a. in nature. I once drove through Monument Valley while stoned listening to Delicate Sound of Thunder; it was almost a religious experience it was so fantastic. Life is absolutely a pursuit of vice and pleasure. Luckily, I can find some pleasure in simple things like helping out others, hanging out with my kids (when they're not being a-holes), going to see live music, riding my bike.

I find it endlessly interesting that people can scold others for being gullible enough to believe something while those same people believe equally ridiculous things.

I blame the party, the Biden family, and Joe's advisors, in that order. For many reasons I've never registered as a Democrat and this fiasco completely validated that choice. Wish I felt better about being validated. I watch almost no news, I read it. I knew Biden's faculties were diminishing without having it shown to me. You'll get no apologies from me, but I will certainly commiserate with you that what was done here was fraudulent, potentially illegal, and borderline treasonous.
