Whatever. As someone that was required to wear a mask all day, every day, at work for ~2 years, it wasn't a big deal. Do what you have to do to protect the vulnerable. It's easy to look back with 20/20 hindsight, but I vividly remember those first few months, and nobody knew shlt. We were doing all sorts of weird stuff, like wiping down groceries, because nobody knew how to deal with it. Possibly partly due to Trump shutting down the pandemic task force, which was also not mentioned in the summary of that report.

That's okay, the Lions have plenty of other things going their way. I'm sure you'll manage. I didn't watch a ton of football yesterday, but I did see some of the Lions pregame. There was a segment about how likable the Lions are, and the guy narrating it said something like "even Bear, Packer, and Viking fans like this team." And he's right. I wish the Lions all the best unless they're playing the Vikes. That last game might decide the division and maybe even home field in the playoffs. The national hype train is really starting to roll, everyone is loving on the Lions right now. Enjoy it while it lasts!

I keep telling you that this does not mean I'm interested in joining you and your "hotwife" in some kind of twisted cuckolding fantasy you're dreaming up. I'm not shy about my opinions of Trump. But I'm trying to take a wait and see approach. Like I said, I have some optimism. Since the election day reckoning the landscape has changed drastically. I really do hope for the best of outcomes, even if that means Trump gets the credit. I can, and have, admit when I'm wrong. And I hope I'm wrong about what Trump will do. None of that changes the fact the Biden is responsible for the ceasefire, no matter what Trump claims.

Well that went exactly as I assumed it would. Funny that you two are in the MSNBC thread going off about liberal echo chambers when you can't even admit that Biden brokered the peace deal, not Trump. I will admit that I am cautiously optimistic about some of the things Trump plans to do. There are some yuge opportunities to make real, positive, lasting changes. Unfortunately, I expect him to fock it up royally in order to benefit himself, but I'll wait to see what happens before reminding you all of what you have wrought. And happily take my lumps if proven wrong.

I'm in Operations, not HR, but Hiring Manager is one of my duties. The on call is just a managerial resource for staff that have to be on site working. I only have to go in to work if shlt truly hits the fan. I mostly just log and communicate absences and authorize people going home early. It's usually not a big deal, and this is my last holiday until 2027, so I'll suck it up and make the best of it. I miss Thanksgivings gone by where I spent the week in Phoenix and Mesa visiting family that's all moved or died. Best time of year to be in the Valley.

Well said. Likewise. Good to remember that we are all Americans, and on the same side, even if we argue about everything. And since I am on call for the holiday and cannot attend my normal festivities as a result, I might very well be here on Thanksgiving, continuing to argue. Or I'll skip it and enjoy watching football in an empty, quiet house.
