Nope, I'm going to pass if the job is offered. On balance simply not worth it. I am willing, though, to consider an ambassadorship to a south pacific island nation if the position comes with an official home with servants of the nubile female variety and with the ability to fly into and out of countries with full dipomatic immunity in my person and my "diplomatic pouch" which would never be filled with Peruvian Marching Powder. Doing my Christmas lighting. Out back I have three 40 foot pines(Ponderosa). For years I have lit them with lights from target. This year i needed replacement/supplemental lights of the same style. I went to target. I was the only customer in the store. The christmas section of the store was markedly smaller than past years. They no longer carried what I need. Time to change my decorating idiom.

Not unusual for boys in grade school to carry Boy Scout knifes. We played in homes under construction and scavanged the sites for boards and nails to use in making tree forts. We used power equipment unsupervised and without proper eye and ear protection. We were allowed to leave the house with a .22 and a 20 gauge when only 12 with no supervision, though we had been taught rather strictly and thoroughly as to their use and safety. We were given beer at the diner table starting around 8, though only a 6 ounce juice glass full. We were provided firecrackers starting around 3rd grade. We rode around in the beds of pickups. My first fishing license was not purchased until I was 30. In high school we freely told our parents when we were going out drinking.

Fascinating. My elementary school was two miles from home. Routinely starting in first grade we would walk or bike there. We had a creek behind our house. We might ice skate in the winter over to a park three miles away as the crow flies and five miles by car. By the time i was in fourth grade we moved. Town was five miles away. We would bike in when we had a few coins to get some candy. By the time I was in sixth grade i had taken up collecting coins. One saturday with my parents blessing we (a buddy and me) road our bikes into town. We boarded a bus for Milwaukee and went to the train station. we rode a train to chicago and then walked to a coin shop. We then returned. No parents involved. Nobody thought anything of it. In the summers we might be gone and out of supervision from morning until dinner time and after dinner until dark. Times change I guess. I know my daughters, for instance, where never left unsupervised for an instant until they were 122 or so and then, rarely. Once thye could drive they had to check in upon reaching their destinations. Of course they are daughters. had i had a son I probzbly would have let him run feral.

As I said in the other thread on this, the nomination did serve to get him out of the House and so unable to try to lead another Speaker overthrow. That seems a good thing.Now as far as AG, well I simply do not want him for AG if there are unanswered, and indeed unasked questions about his integrity. If, as he says, he is innocent, he should meet this thing head on. He should ask for release of the report and he should address its contents. The air needs to be cleared. Is that a bit unfair if the report is some partisan hit job, sure, but the allegations are now lingering malodorously in the air anyhow.
