Maybe start him on the road to recovery by linking him to the top 100 jewish actesses and models page. He can learn to like that and then maybe move forward, say to the top 25 jewish commics, and then to the top 25 writers, followed by directors. He may grow. The one thing he cant be linked to is the top jewish NBA players of the 21st century as the list is basically empty..

You have backed it up with studies, 12 year old surveys of literature where the surveyor cites, among other articles, their own past articles. Hardly rigorous studies. As for your position that they are a net benefit to the country when they don't pay income taxes, if that were so would we all not be a net benefit even if we did not pay income taxes since we would still be paying sales taxes and gas taxes. No, they are a detriment, a drain. Their costs are hidden from most evaluations as they are impossible to quantify in a complex economic and political system. What, for instance, is the cost of school overcrowding on the educational attainment of our children? When our children don't attain we lose a generation of productivity, how is that factored in? What is the cost of insurance and emergency services for the uninsured? What is the cost for a murder, or a rape, how is that amortized? What about the inefficiency of having government at all levels have to produce multiple language copies of forms and to provide interpreters? What is the cost of the reintroduction of infectious deseases previously irradicated here? I am for controlled, legal immigration. I am for it being proportional to and representative of the world population. Some from all countries but not an overwhelming and disproportionate amount fom any. I am for a liberal guest worker program where employers have some responsibility for tracking their workers and returning them to their countries of origin when the job expires. I do want birth right citizenship to not be extended to guest workers or to any on a visa who have overstayed their visas to give birth. I don't want there to be anchor babies. The baby may be a citizen and is welcom in on their 18th birthday individually, but the parents are not. I am willing to fast track applications to foriegn students in the sciences if they have jobs lines up after graduation and they have committed no crimes while attending universities here. I would do away with automatic asylum seeking. Congress has abused the language there to keep the problem going saying or arguing that poverty is oppression. In times of war, or major natural disasters congress can then make the case at that time for asylum for those specific folks, if they can make the case.

Maybe the Senate ought to stay in session. Still, the positions are all currently filled, there is no vacancy into which to appoint someone and presidents elect have no official power to make appointments. This is not an issue until inauguration. At inauguration there will be a potential vacancies andrepublican controlled senate so his appointments can go through basically that day if the new leadership prioritizes this. Long and short, the article does not appreciate the entire process.
  5. Kristi Noem, Director of Homeland Security? I like her, probably primarily because I find her hot, but liking her and finding her qualified for that position are two different matters. She seems a competent manager as demonstrated by her governorship, but she seems to lack subject matter experience and expertise. Maybe managerial experiernce is enough, maybe.
  6. To me he lacks the gravitas I like in that position. Perhaps he will grow into the role.

    30 inches and still snowing.

A bit early in the year for this. The shoveling sucks as I ruptured my biceps tendon 19 days ago. Sure is pretty though.
  8. I cannot foresee any scenario where they would back such action. Not a single member. Clearly and unequivocally that would require a Constitutional amendment.
  9. To end birth citizenship for folks born here, regardless of the status of the parents would indeed take a Constitutional amendment. To outlaw birth tourism, preventing those obviously pregnant from entering the country could be done legislatively and enforced administratively. As for the Department of Education, that can be eliminated by executive action.

    I voted straight party Republican

As English Bob, the Duck of Death told the barber, "a wise policy sir."

    I voted straight party Republican

In my jurisdiction they do, except for local City races which are, by charter, designated as non-partisan, though everybody pretty much knows who is who.
  12. So you don't understand the definition of a criminal. Interesting. English is not my first language either so I sometimes I have difficulty with definitions, nuance, and idioms and colloquialisms.

What will President Trump do about the January 6 defendants?

Nixon's crimes almost seem quaint by today's standards. A keystome cop burglary by a bunch of stooges many with no more intelligence than the Otto character in a Fish Called Wanda. I ham-handed coverup based on hubris by the Predsident. I wonder, are those the good old days now?

You are correct. Conviction is not required at the time of the pardon. See: The Supreme Court and the president’s pardon power - SCOTUSblog

I agree there is no law saying you can't hire them. There is no law saying you need to investigate the status of independant contractors. Absolutley true. I have never argued otherwise. I might argue that there should be, but I do not maintain that there is. I do smile when you pretend that they might be legal for all you know.

    I voted straight party Republican

I seem to remember a time, back in the 60's, where voting booths actually had a lever to vote a straight party ticket. One pull covered all of the races, if that was what one wished to do. Now, with multiple parties voting straight party takes more time, I suppose, though the time spent on thought would be minimized, just look for the letter of your choice and check that box.

I suspect he will come to a bad end hurting others in the process.

So you turn a deliberately blind eye and ear and take refuge in a technicality. Seems an odd moral stance for someone who moralizes as much as do you.

Unlimited power. That seems like a lot. I thought the Constitution limited power to the government, reserving most of it to the people. Of course I realize that politicians often do not use language precisely. If he acts as if his power is unlimited he may find himself brought to a rather dramatic and punative halt, at least I hope so.

    Volleyball team forfeits.

Myself, I would represent either side in the debate and by the time it got to briefings and trial I would believe my side. I have the habit of convincing myself with my arguments, even when those arguments are initially made for others, against my personal views. I think judges and jurors can tell when you don't believe in your own arguments so convincing oneself is the first step towards successful litigation. Of course your arguments need to be cogent. If they are just insistence in face of undistupted counterfacts, well then one just seems the ass.
  22. The courts have begun to form a concensus that felons have a right to vote and to hold office. There may still be a jurisdiction or two holding out on the holding of officve, but not many. It is still allowed to deny office to someone convicted of malfeasance in office or taking bribes, at least in most jurisdictions.

    Volleyball team forfeits.

So does that mean it materially and fraudulently represented itself to obtain a benefit rightfully designated for another? If it sues perhaps there is a more powerful counterclaim.
