Will you take McFadden in the 3rd?

I think you are going to see that the whole zone blocking thing being DMCs downfall was just an excuse. If you watched the preseason game against Dallas you watched DMC get engulfed as soon as he touched the football. I would not want to have a RB that is on a team that can't block or play D.
  2. But as noted above there are several first round RBs with a questionable QB leading the team. My biggest concern about Spiller is if he can handle the workload. The new system is supposed to be another one of these new high frequency offenses and the Buffalo staff has said their goal is to run more offensive plays in a game. If Manual comes in at QB he will be able to add some of the read option look that forces the D to spread out and hesitate on the RB run. That has opened up running lanes for RBs around the league. Spiller only needs a small crease to take it to the house.

    What to do about Gronk.

Gronk isn't being drafted in the 6th or 7th round. The question is will you be "the guy" to pull the trigger in the 4th or early 5th. It is tempting dreaming of the upside of Gronk when he comes back but I'm going to have to say no. You all already going to miss out on 6 weeks of production plus his bye Week 10. Can you trust to start him in his first fill game back in Week 7? Do the Pats figure they can win @NYJ and Miami in 7 and 8 and just let him wait until the bye? I've seen that play out before. Too many questions and you'll have to handcuff your TE with a decent player or you may be in bad shape by the time Gronk returns.

Where are you seeing Lacy in your mock drafts?

If you can get Lacy in the 10th round then go for it! His ADP is the middle 5th round so it probably isn't going to happen.

**Look-Alike Players 2013: LeSean McCoy vs. C.J. Spiller

I'm also going to go with McCoy. Having Peters back and Lane Johnson is going to be a major positive to that OL. The read option with Vick at QB is going to open up wide running lanes that McCoy can take advantage. I don't think you could go wrong with either player.

Please rank these 3rd and 4th round ppr RB's

First let us assume that both Ivory and Mathews stay healthy all season. If that is the case then Ivory is going to be the bell cow in the Jets backfield staying on the field all three downs. Mathews is going to share the ball with Woodhead and Brown. Mathews will sit on the bench during the two minute drill and obvious passing situations and the Chargers will call on Woodhead. The Chargers also have a far less talented offensive line than the Jets. I don't think the Chargers have the defense to stop the opposing team from scoring. That means as SD plays from behind Mathews owners will curse that they drafted him as he sits on the pine.

Keep an eye on this guy!

I think the guy to watch out for in the final round of a draft is a flier on Tony Moiaki. Moiaki has excellent talent as a move TE and plays well when healthy. The problem is going back to his college days at Iowa he had frequent injuries. Here is the super speculative thing about this. I don't think that Moiaki stays in KC. They like their other two TEs. Tony Moaiki's previous college teammate is Brian Ferentz who was the New England TE coach for a couple of years before going back to Iowa as the OL coach. There is a connection there and NE seems to bring in a few ex-Iowa players. Again, deep bench long shot but it would not be a total surprise for TM to take over the move TE role in New England if healthy.

Keep an eye on this guy!

Per the Kansas City Star, third-round RB Knile Davis has been one of the early disappointments of training camp. Predictably. Davis has been working as the Chiefs' kick returner, and he's muffed a couple. He's also proceeded to drop multiple passes out of the backfield. A chronic fumbler in college, the Chiefs will get their first look at Davis in pads on Sunday. He's competing with Shaun Draughn for No. 2 back duties Classic example of looks like Tarzan but plays like Jane. Davis has always had workout warrior measurables but has amounted to little on the football field. I doubt that it is just going to come to him now that he is in the NFL.

    why no love for sproles?

Unless you are playing with people that have no idea what they are doing I would be shocked if Bush or Sproles make it to your third round pick.

    Best Back Up RB

What you would be looking for is a player that can step in and take the position of an RB1. There are a few backups that have the skills and situation to make this happen. Here is my list as most valuable based off of talent, situation, and health of RB ahead of them. Ben Tate Bryce Brown Shane Vereen- Big time lottery ticket. If Ridley goes down he could take over the entire backfield and become a top 5 back. Bernard Pierce Fred Jackson Mark Ingram Joseph Randle- Not much talk of him but could be a deep sleeper if DeMarco Murry goes down.

Now we know why Eddie Lacy didn't major in art

You might want to research that more. I'm fairly sure that Eddie Lacy did in fact major in art at Bama'.

Please rank these 3rd and 4th round ppr RB's

Reggie Bush and Darren Sproles would be at the top of the list and their current ADP in PPR is mid and late 2nd round. The rest of my list won't match up with what you would find in most fantasy football magazines or the consensus on this board. Reggie Bush Darren Sproles Murry Miller Bell Ivory I like these 4 because they will be on the field all three downs. Vareen Ridley DMC Gore Ball Mathews Vareen and Ridley both have some upside. Ridley is kept in the third tier because he will not get you any receptions. I'm not sure what to expect out of Ball. Hillman and Moreno showed they they deserve some work on passing downs and Fox has never been big on rookie RBs. Would not touch Mathews. He is on a poor offense and Woodhead and Brown will play in 3rd down and two minute offense. I

Anyone giving DMAC one more chance this year ?

After drafting him in 2011 and saying never again I made the mistake of drafting DMC in 2012. I know a lot of people get lured into the DMC hype because of the one good year he had in 2010. His other 4 years he has given his owners misery. Last year after failing me the entire year I only needed him to come through against Carolina in the championship game. 33 yards on 17 carries! What a joke. The hope this year is that all his struggle last year (besides the yearly injury) was his inability to read blocks. I think his issues go beyond that problem. The Raider offense looks like it will be absolutely horrid this year. Flynn has a weak arm and can't get the ball down field. They have no tight end. The Raider defense should be equally horrible and put them out of games. Two of DMC's 4 decent games came against KC as the Raiders fed him the ball 29/30 times and he ran for under 4 YPC. I just can't trust the Raiders to stay competitive enough to give DMC carries. Another thing that I don't like about DMC this year is that he doesn't have a clear handcuff. In 2011 when DMC went down it was ok because I had Bush to fill in. The depth chart behind DMC lacks clarity and talent. Jennings clearly doesn't have the talent to be the guy. Marcel Reese played like a beast but for some reason this staff can't see him as a RB. Around DMCs current ADP I would much rather have Wilson, Bell, Ball, Harvin, or Gronk.

Harvin vs Cobb vs Cruz... "in fantasy"

Again, it really comes down to a reading comprehension issue. Go back an read it again. I said that his offensive line is aging and in decline. Then you had your tantrum about Foster not being too old. I then returned to address that I was speaking about his line being an issue and you again replied with Foster not being too old. Now again in this thread you are bringing up Foster's age. "I still dont understand the comparison in favor of cobb. They are both talented but harvin obviously has an edge. They both play with good-great qbs (yeah wilson still has another season to prove he is consistent). Why would the seahawks invest in harvin if he was more of a certain situation/gimmick/diversion if he is obviously the best player on the roster?" You should also cut out your use of obviously. In terms of talent most would agree that Harvin is the more talent but a case could be made that Cobb has devoted himself to becoming elite at the position. It seems that the consensus here is that Cobb is in front of Harvin because one WR is on a pass based offense and the other is on a run based offense. Also, Harvin is not obviously the best player on the Seattle roster. I think that Richard Sherman is the most talented player on the Seattle roster and then a case can be made for Lynch or Wilson.

Harvin vs Cobb vs Cruz... "in fantasy"

I'm looking at your picture and can't determine if you are the guy with the short hair or the man with the long hair?
  16. BobSanders_33

Harvin vs Cobb vs Cruz... "in fantasy"

You have poor reading comprehension. First, nobody stated if it were PPR or standard scoring. If it were PPR scoring then Cobb and Cruz would have substantial advantages in offenses where they will command a high rate of targets. Second, you can't argue a players ADP. It is a statistical fact. Third, I said absolute floor. If you read on I state that Harvin's numbers will be much higher because Carroll will scheme to get Harvin the ball. They are comparable because Tate and Harvin will play the same position in the Seattle offense. Tate was able to manage 7 TDs and has far less talent so that is a good sign for Harvin.

Harvin vs Cobb vs Cruz... "in fantasy"

I don't think you could go wrong with any of these receivers and all three have top 10 potential. We have an idea of what Cobb and Cruz can do in their current situation. The wildcard here is Percy Harvin. You can look at Golden Tate's numbers to get an absolute floor for Harvin. Tate ended the year 45/688/7 with a 15.3 YPC. Pete Carroll will design a lot of plays to run through Harvin so you have to assume that the catch numbers will go up. The TDs are already respectable and you would also imagine that Harvin can add a few on top of that. Right now the ADPs of the three players Cobb (3.7), Harvin (3.9), Cruz (4.1). I would personally rank them Cobb, Cruz, then Harvin giving the edge to the two players that you know will see a large volume of targets. Harvin is a slightly riskier play but has a ton of upside if he can hall in red zone targets.

**Look-Alike Players 2013: Stevan Ridley vs. DeMarco Murray

When I go back and look at Murray's highlight reel from 2011 (although limited) and his college tape from OU I see a running back that has everything. He has all the moves in the books and runs with power plus speed. The scary thing about him is that he runs violently into contact and that might increases his injury concerns. Last year I remember him coming out strong against NYG and thinking he was going to be a steal for the guy that drafted him. He was absolutely pounding Balt in teh first half of the game where he suffered his foot injury. Murray is a guy that IF he stays healthy could be a stud. Just like DMC some of these guys that look good on highlight films just can't put it together for an entire season. I'll be rolling the dice if he falls to me at the beginning of the 3rd round.
  19. BobSanders_33

    Who's #2?

I said Foster's aging and declining offensive line. The Texans OL is not what it used to be and he had trouble getting to the edge last year for long gains. That is one of the reasons that Foster had an anemic 4.0 YPC last year. He made his numbers because he got a massive workload. Great RBs are made by great OLs. Also, don't discount the effect of having one of the top minds in zone blocking with Kyle Shanahan on board in prior years coaching up the OL. I know zone blocking is also Kubiaks specialty but having another top not coach helps. As far as age it is based off of the idea that a RB only has so many touches in their bodies. I'm a Foster fan and picked him up late in drafts his 2nd year and he carried me to championships. As a rule I will not take a back that rushes for under 4.2 yards per carry the previous year. The rate at which an RB declines is rabid and we've witnessed it many times before. Foster could have another excellent year or two left in him. He has the perfect schedule down the stretch. I'm just going to side with an up and coming talent and offensive line with Doug Martin.
  20. BobSanders_33

#2s that could see more action because of the #1s

I like this list with TY Hilton. I think that Hilton will pick up some of the targets that Avery and Wayne collected last year. Give me a #2WR with an elite throwing QB. I'm not buying on Sanu. One of the knocks on him coming out of Rutgers is that although he had a crazy amount of receptions he didn't catch a ball for 20+ yards. When Dalton drops back to pass his reads are going to be Green, Eifert, Hawkins/Bernard, then Sanu. That is just not an offense where you can count on a WR other than Green. Unless Sanu gets you a TD you're going to get under 5 pts.

    Who's #2?

I don't like when an RBs YPC start to decline. Part of Foster's problem is aging and a declining offensive line. I do like the weakness in Houston's schedule over the last half of the season. I'm going to go with a runner that has fresh legs and an offensive line that should be one of the best run blockers in the league with Doug Martin. I think that Freeman and the entire offense comes alive this season and DM contends for the #1 RB ranking.

**Look-Alike Players 2013: Stevan Ridley vs. DeMarco Murray

Well matched pair. I will go against the grain and pick DeMarco Murray. DM has been an injury magnet his entire career so there is risk in choosing him. I'll take him because he is an every down back and the only real show in town. I'll take a back that is going to be on the field in every situation on a high powered offense. Although this is not PPR Ridley's value is decreased because he will come off the field in 3rd down and some short yardage situations. After being knocked out cold in the Super Bowl he has some injury concerns. I also like that you can get Murray's handcuff at the very end of draft just to be safe.
  23. BobSanders_33

    why the hate for CJ2K?

I don't know what you mean by hate. His current ADP is 14th RB off the board behind Ridley and before MJD. That seems about the right place for him.
  24. BobSanders_33

    Trent Richardson or Alfred Morris

Very close one. In PPR it is clearly TR because Alf doesn't catch passes. In standard scoring I'd give a very slight edge to TR because the receiving yards will add to his total yardage.
  25. BobSanders_33

Players you are willing to reach on?

Is this a joke or do you not know what "reach" means. Some players that I will take before their normal ADP would be Murray, V. Davis, Decker, Bryce Brown, and D-X.
