    Official Week 16 F.U. thread........

FU Charcandrick West, Matt Forte, Cameron Artis-Payne, Amari Cooper and, yes, even Antonio Brown. Fock all of you! Not 1 touchdown from the whole damn group. Fock you John Fox, Fock you Ron Rivera. And a big FOCK YOU to Luke Kuechly for looking like a child while Julio snatches a hail mary over your head.
  2. I've been streaming TEs all year, a lot of the times picking wrong, but somehow I've made it to the finals. So, for the people that don't have someone in the Gronk/Olsen/Walker/Reed tier, how are you feeling about your middle of the road TEs? On my roster, Julius Thomas, Richard Rodgers, Eric Ebron, Zach Miller Julius Thomas - @NO - Saints are a top 5 match-up, giving up 81 ypg to TEs, giving up 10 TDs on the season, but only 1 in the past 4 games. Seems maybe they've shored up that leak a little bit since Ryan got the boot? Zach Miller - @TB - Bucs have been pretty good the past 5 weeks against TEs, only giving up 67 ypg and 0 TDs. Alshon is always banged up so you never know if he plays or sits or plays but leaves after a short period, so unpredictable. If he's out or atleast very gimpy, gotta think Miller gets a lot of targets. Richard Rodgers - @ARI - Surpisingly, ARI has given up 87 ypg to TEs over the past 5 games, allowing 4 TDs as well. The TE points scored have been trending up the past couple months. They are the number 1 match-up play. That 30 point miracle a few weeks ago for Rodgers has him as a Top 10 TE on the year (in my league at least), but he's totaled a whopping 7 points combined the past 2 weeks. He just disappears from the game plan sometimes. Eric Ebron - vs SF - Speaking of disappearing from the game plan, Ebron is my most frustrating TE this season. In a year where Calvin hasn't been the Calvin of old, you'd think this 6'4 250lb dude would be in a position to capitalize, but no, his past 4 games points scored, 3, 7, 3, 9. Why they don't use this guy, I don't know. Niners only allowing 42 ypg to TEs last 5 weeks, only twice all year has a TE scored 10+ on them (Rodgers wk 4 and Barnidge wk 14) This is a glorified Who Do I Start topic, but hey, its the Finals, and there is at least some discussion to be had, I gotta think there are a lot of people out there that don't have a Top Tier option and are looking for every point this weekend. Any opinions are welcome. Thanks for reading.

Brees week 16, so typical of my year.

I have a similar decision of Carr tonight or wait on Brees news. Gotta go with Carr. Another thread with discussion on this same situation, most of the replies there are advocating Carr as well http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=452046
  4. I have the same decision, Brees or Carr. Been targeting this Brees @ Home against Jax for the past month, so of course he gets hurt. Last 5 weeks, JAX allowing 261 ypg, 1.6 TD/g, 32 rushing ypg to QBs, not that Brees runs a lot or anything, but, every point counts. Last 5 weeks, SD allowing 231 ypg, 0.8 TD/g, 22 rushing ypg to QB. Right now I've got Carr in my lineup, wondering if the Saints will bother putting him out there when their season is over and they could use the opportunity to see what they have in Grayson. So, to expand on that topic, Saints fans, do you think it will be Grayson over Flynn? I haven't seen any reports stating if there is a lean one way or another. If it is Grayson, anyone crazy enough to start the rookie in his first game in the SuperBowl, just for that juicier match-up?

    4 players for 1!

Pretty much agree with the other posters, fine trade to make an upgrade but maybe you're giving up just little too much. You don't need CJ, Jones or Kelce to carry their position, but I would have held onto Rams D. Guess it depends on what your D situation is after the deal. Thanks for answering mine.
  6. NickSac

AJ Green/CJA for AP and Den D?

I'd also do it, having Gronk is so huge where he can offset a little lower production from your WR corp, with the upgrade at RB, seems like a good move. Thanks for answering mine.
  7. 12 team, redraft, 0.5 PPR My lineup, starters bold : QB - Drew Brees, Derek Carr, Alex Smith RB - Matt Forte Flex (RB/WR) - Charcandrick West WR - Antonio Brown WR - Amari Cooper Flex (RB/WR/TE) - Jonathan Stewart, Stefon Diggs TE - Julius Thomas, Eric Ebron, Richard Rodgers I'm considering a trade sending Carr and Cooper for Latavius Murray and Gary Barnidge. Lost Forte this weekend obviously, our trade deadline is Wednesday, so we probably won't have a definitive timetable for Forte by then, so I have to plan as if he's done for at least most of the rest of the season. I could slot Diggs right into Cooper's spot, replace Forte with Murray, upgrade my TE big time, but then I depend on Brees to be my guy rest of the way. He's @TB, vs DET, vs JAX in the playoffs, two home games, that's nice, 2 Top 5 matchups and a top 15 matchup. Don't want to get too excited about the 7 TD game when he's been a 1-2 TD per game guy outside of this past week. Carr is @DEN, vs GB, vs SD, not a great matchup in the bunch, but he's been a 2-3 TD per week guy pretty consistently. RBs doing much better against all 3 of those teams than QBs though, so it might be better to have Murray than the Carr/Cooper combo. We've got 2 loaded teams just crushing people up in the league, gotta swing for the fences against them. Looking for some opinions, thanks for reading and responding.

Which St Louis RB is the one to own?

Just sayin, any time spent in a defensive meeting talking about Todd Gurley, is time spent not talking about the guys that will actually be out there. Probably makes almost no difference, but there's zero benefit Fisher saying "Todd's not ready" versus maybe some tiny little benefit saying "He might be out there for us."
  9. NickSac

Which St Louis RB is the one to own?

None will be more than a Flex option until Week 8 or so when Gurley takes over the lead. Even then it will most likely be a 50/40/10 split between Gurley/Mason/Benny. Mason is the lead back if he's ready to go this week, but you will still see Benny in there a lot. Pretty much the only thing the skins have going for them is a decent front 7. Bam Bam Cunningham's head down legs churning style is probably the better way to attack their defense. Could easily see Mason bottled up for a lot of 1, 2 yard gains, maybe he breaks the 70 yarder to save you, but... first game back, don't think its likely. Gurley being reported as a possible go is just to make WAS D Cord scheme for him. No way Fisher puts Gurley out there on that field, too many people tear up their legs on that grass.

What do you need from MNF to advance?

Need Cutler to outscore Graham by 9.1. Pretty nervous.

    The Flash Gordon Conundrum

This. Thats my reasoning for playing him this week, I need a miracle, and its either Gordon, Kelce or Decker in my last flex spot to provide that miracle. Gotta hope JFF can scramble a little, extend some plays, and hit at least 1 long bomb to Gordon.
  12. In the semi finals with nothing coming out of my RB spot pretty much every week. We start 1-RB, 2-WR, 2-Flex, so we are only forced to start 1 RB each with, with the option of up to 3. I haven't started more than one in months because I have NOTHING at RB. Drafted - Ball, Gerhart, Sankey, Freeman From the WW - Donald Brown, Matt Asiata, Storm Johnson, Brandon Oliver, Darren McFadden. This week, the freaking Playoff Semi Finals, Im lining up Reggie Bush. I need Reggie f******* Bush to get me into the money game. Made it this far with a monster WR/TE group, but this no RB thing will probably end me this week. Anyone get this far with nothing from one of the 3 major spots RB, QB, WR?
  13. Im playing against.. (keeper league) QB - Brady RB - Lynch WR - Calvin WR - Hilton Flex - AJ Flex - Cobb TE - Gronk 49ers/Broncos Projected to lose by 14.

    Playoffs

A big time poker player once said "Any given hand can be 90% skill with 10% luck, or 90% luck with 10% skill." I think thats a perfect comparison to fantasy football. You can make an as educated guess as anyone but thats all it comes down to, a guess. 99% of us aren't as smart as we think we are unfortunately. If we were, we'd have jobs working for these teams as scouts or game planners or quality control, etc. But, we're not, we play fantasy football.

    I hate PPR

For my league it came down to balance. We went to 0.5 PPR a few years ago to bring the WRs up to a level where they can compete with the RBs. RBs simply get (or atleast used to get) more volume than the WR and TEs so we had to bring everyone else up to compete. Before the switch our league was all about who drafted the right couple RBs and the rest pretty much didnt matter. Now, you need a team with quality in each roster spot. We've always been a 6 Point Passing TD league, which some of our members are trying to change to 4 points, again, to bring balance. Part of the problem is this New NFL where the passing game is more emphasized whereas just 5 or so years ago the RBs dominated fantasy football.

    Rivers vs. Cutler

Bringing this to the big board, technically its a "Who do I start", but Im trying to bring a little discussion to this. Im sure there are some Rivers and Cutler owners on the big board here that need to decide whether to use one of those guys this week. These point totals are from my league, 6 pt TDs, bonuses for long touchdowns and games over 300/400 yards. Rivers vs. NE Rivers overall - 20.0/game Rivers Last 5 Games - 14.2/game - (DEN 22.5, MIA -6.8, OAK 10.3, STL 12.4, BAL 31.7) NE giving up 21.4/game over last 5 Weeks - (Cutler 23.4, Manning 26.7, Luck 23.6. Stafford 5.5, Rodgers - 27.8) Clearly he'd been struggling for 3 weeks up until last Sunday. Was that just the rib injury? Does the 31 in BAL say that he's back to 20 point floor/35 point ceiling guy this week? NE has been lit up by the Elites of the QB ranks, then they split the next tier, holding Stafford in check but letting Cutler go off. Is Rivers closer to the Manning/Luck/Rodgers group or the Cutler/Stafford group? Cutler vs. DAL Cutler overall - 18.2/game Cutler Last 5 Games - 16.6/game (NE 23.4, GB 7.4, MIN 31.7, TB 5.2, DET 15.4) DAL giving up 18.6/game over last 5 Weeks - (WSH 13.6, ARI 22.4, JAC 6.4, NYG 29.5, PHI 21.5) He's been maddening this year. Such great offensive weapons but just cant put together any string of 20+ point games. He has been 1 Good Game, 1 Bad Game consistently for the past 2 months and last week he had 15.4. Neither good nor bad, so.. what's he due for this week? DAL held down WAS and JAC like they "should have" and the Middle of the Pack QBs in Palmer/Eli/Sanchez all had nice games. ESPN says Rivers 20, Cutler 18, fwiw. Seems pretty easy to project them both in the 18-22 range, so, who is the safer bet? Anything about these Cowboys/Patriots defense from the homers that you think will effect this week? Thanks for reading, lets get this money!

    Rivers vs. Cutler

Its come down to splitting the smallest of hairs and yea I did check out weather.com thats how close I think it is. Everyone has them ranked so close. The stats are so close no matter how I slice it up. Gotta go with Rivers. Started Cutler on DraftKings so if he does go off and I lose my playoff game maybe I get a little cash out of him. Thanks for the replies.
  18. My league has been together for about 8 years now with about 75% of the owners still from year 1, so we all know each other well, we're friends and all that, but things get heated when we start debating rule changes. We are a 12 team re-draft with 1 keeper league. We've always had 8 teams make the playoffs. Standard week 14-16 playoffs. Some owners in the league, like myself have been pushing for years to change it to 6 teams but its been voted down every time. The most common response being "Its more fun if you have a chance at the end." I think this almost completely devalues the regular season. A couple years ago a team that went 5-8 in the regular season squeeked into the playoffs and just happened to get hot/get lucky weeks 14-16 and took the whole thing down. We are tring to avoid that happening again but like i said, the arguments can get out of hand sometimes between good friends. I think this year some people are mad enough with their season to get the votes for 6 playoff teams next year. But now things like payouts and seeding are being brought into it, so I wanted to get some opinions from the board about number of playoff teams, seeding, and payout structures. What have you done in your leagues over the years to make things fair or fun or the best for the league, whatever. We've had some issues the past couple years of people realizing they dont have much of a shot and trading off players for next year's draft picks. This isnt going away, so its something we have to balance around. I myself traded next years 3rd pick for Orange Julius to beef up for the playoff run. We buy in for $150 each, so $1800 in the pot. We Pay Out : 1st - $1000 2nd - $355 3rd - $150 High Score For Each Week - $20 (paid at the end of the year) Personally, I want to make it so that we do 2 divisions, where each division winner receives a 1st Round (week 14) Bye. Seeds 3-5 are the next 3 best records regardless of division. The last team, the 6th Seed, is the team with the most total points that isnt already in the playoffs. I think that this can keep a good team that might have had some bad head to head luck still alive. Some people in the league think changing to 6 playoff teams will make more owners sell off players therefor making the league unbalanced. Other owners want to go to 6, but want to change the payouts to just 1st and 2nd place taking money. Other owners want to keep it at 8 teams so they can try to get lucky for 3 weeks at the end to take down the pot. Looking for some input and opinions on how your guys in long term leagues have done it and maybe give me some arguments on why you like certain ways that I can present to my league. Thanks for reading.
  19. Didnt want to put this on the main board, just looking to settle some trash talking in our league. 0.5 PPR, 6 point passing TDs, bonuses for long TDs and big games (300+ passing, 100+ rushing, etc) We allow trading players for picks in next years draft which is how a couple of these teams got loaded. Just for s**** & giggles, who do ya like? Team A : QB - Rodgers RB - Bell Flex - Forte Flex - Vereen WR - Maclin WR - Julio Jones TE - Olsen Team B : QB - Brees RB - Terrance West (would be AP, if/when he comes back) Flex - Desean Jackson Flex - Allen Robinson/Terrance Williams WR - Dez WR - Jordy TE - Bennett Team C : QB - Rivers RB - McKinnon/McFadden/Bush (different each week) Flex - Decker (could be Josh Gordon when he's back) Flex - LaFell (or Kelce) WR - Antonio Brown WR - Dem Thomas TE - Julius Thomas Team D : QB - Brady RB - Lynch Flex - Gronk Flex - AJ Green OR TY Hilton WR - Calvin WR - Cobb TE - Jimmy Graham Team E : QB - Luck RB - Lacy Flex - Ellington Flex - Ingram (Gio Bernard if/when healthy) WR - Roddy White WR - Em Sanders TE - Clay/Ertz
  20. I like the Toilet Bowl idea to keep the bottom feeders of the league involved and not so quick to sell off players for picks. We allow picks to be traded just because most of us have been in the league for 8 years now, we're all good friends back to the college days, so we know the people are going to be back next year. 6 Teams or 4 making the playoffs seems the consensus, Im hoping to get 6 passed for next year, no chance in hell I'll be able to get it to 4. We dont use CBS so im not sure have that Power Ranking thing works. Im also going to bring up going to 3 division instead of 2, maybe making the divisions random each year. Thanks for the replies guys. Best of luck taking down that money this year!

    PPR Flex Help

0.5 PPR 2nd flex spot : Darren McFadden (over the last 5 weeks, SEA is a middle of the road matchup. DMC has actually been servicable the past month) Eric Decker (Was actually doing decent with Geno, but now with Vick, does his value go up? down? stay about the same?) Travis Kelce (not more than 4 catches in last 3 games, hasn't scored in last 2. Jets are top 5 TE match up though.) Pretty much across the board on the projection sites, each of these guys is expected to get about 40-60 yards and I pretty much agree with that. So, who gets the touchdown this week to make them the play? Pick one. Thanks.
  22. I busted on all my RB draft picks this year. Took Montee Ball in the 2nd, Toby Gerhart in the 4th, Bishop Sankey in the 6th. Its been a messed up year. On the other hand, I'm stocked at WR with Demaryius Thomas, Antonio Brown, Eric Decker, Brian Quick, Kendall Wright and Josh Gordon stashed. My league is 0.5 PPR with bonuses for long TDs. 12 team redrafter with 1 Keeper. We only _HAVE_ to start 1 RB. Today I traded my 3rd round pick (which is really a "4th" with the 1 Keeper rule) next year for Julius Thomas (plus we swapped 10th and 13th, so I got a little back) Current lineup for next week and beyond.. QB - Cutler RB - ?????? WR - D Thomas WR - A Brown RB/WR - E Decker RB/WR/TE - B Quick - Wheaton on the bench TE - Julius Thomas - Kelce on the bench Ive been starting Asiata the past 2 weeks, but it looks like thats over, so I grabbed (and started) Storm Johnson (who atleast got me a TD). Also picked up Juwan Thompson. So, what the hell do I do with this RB situation? I could wait for Ball to come back and roll out Toby (when he's healthy again) or Storm (if Toby's out) or hope Thompson's 8 carries yesterday to turns into more if Hillman doesn't take the job and run. Of course Ball did almost nothing for me anyway after week 1. Can I even trust him for a playoff run when he does get back? Hillman having 15 points yesterday and this being a 12 team leauge with a big bench, he will be claimed tomorrow and we do blind bidding so I'd have to put a big chunk of what I have left in for him, maybe $40 out of the $75 i have left (started $150). I could try to deal one of my bigger WRs for a decent RB. People in my league over value the hell out of their RBs, especially considering this is PPR with only 1 mandatory RB slot. I'd have to give up Brown or Thomas to get a Frank Gore or Fred Jackson or Alfred Morris. I could survive the WR hit but I just dont see the value in it. I could deal away another draft pick next year. It would take my 2nd or something like a 4th and 6th package to land one of those guys I just mentioned. Maybe the 4th/6th package could land a Chris Ivory or Lamar Miller or Shane Vereen. Not very exciting either. Im 4-1 and depending on Quick tonight could be 5-1. The way my league is set up, Im almost assured a playoff spot already, but I'd obviously like to get a top seed. So, what do I do? Stay put, wait for Ball? Put the rest of my $ on Hillman and wait for Ball? Deal a big WR? Deal a pick? Any input is helpfull. Thanks for reading.
  23. So far on the season.. Quick 21 - 322 - 3 on 31 targets for 64 ff points, 17th ranked WR Wright 25 - 233 - 3 on 38 targets for 55 ff points, 26th ranked WR Wright has the better playoff schedule (as of now) NJG, NYJ, @JAX. Wright is generally good for 8-10 targets consistently. Quick is right there, getting 9 targets 3 of 4 games. I think Quick has the better QB situation. Quick faces @WAS, ARI, NYG in the playoffs. Trying to unload one of these 2 for a RB. Who would you rather hang on to the rest of the year? Edit - should have said, 0.5 PPR

    Potential Deal's involving McCoy

I think it depends on how much you like Kap. Deal 1: Brees hasnt been the usual Drew Brees, but he's still better than Kap this year and Brees has the better playoff schedule. So, you're upgrading Kap with Brees and upgrading (I think) Cruz with Williams. 2 upgrades 1 downgrade. If you could then package Kap/Maclin to get a top TE or good TE/ good RB package, that would be nice. Deal 2: Dont like this deal much at all. Marshall's had 1 good game that most people probabaly didnt start him in anyway. Cutler has lots of options in CHI so I think the WRs are pretty much a wash, so its Morris for McCoy, and you lose playoff add Gordon. Meh. Deal 3: Actually like this one the best. Cobb is clearly an upgrade over Cruz. Bradshaw is a top 10 RB. McCoy has to worry about Sproles more than Bradshaw needs to think about Richardson, IMO. On the eagles, McCoy looks less than 100%. He's not on the injury report, but just watching him and talking with Eagle homers (eagle country where I live), he doesnt look full speed. Thats nothing but my opinion, but its worth taking a closer look at I think. Also, look deeper into Foles when thinking about how much you like Maclin the ROS. Maclin's TD this week was a gift from a rookie DB completely blowing his coverage assingment. Other than that, the Eagles Offense scored 1 TD in the last 2 games.
  25. NickSac

    Asiata or Sankey ROS

Sankey's role "should" have been expanded since week 1 but nothing's doing. He had the 10 carries against CIN, then there was all this talk out of Titans practice about how Sankey would be getting more involved in the offense. Then in the next 2 games Greene gets 3 Sankey gets 6 against IND then Greene gets 11 to Sankey's 8 against CLE. For all the talk and expectation of Sankey taking over this job, its just not happening. Meanwhile, Asiata has been getting 15-20 touches every week. I think Asiata is safer if you NEED this RB spot to start, but if you can wait 2 or 3 more weeks to see if Sankey does get anything going, perhaps you gamble that TEN finally wakes up and sees Greene is not the future and they might as well see what they have in Sankey getting a full workload.
