Trump talk only- no Eagles talk allowed (Steelers talk is OK though)

To my point: are you saying that Musk, RFK, Gabbard, Vivek all have unquestioning loyalty? -

Perhaps. Keep in mind though that the reasoning behind Chesterton's fence was a warning about progressive policies. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G._K._Chesterton -
Introducing your first place AZ Cardinals$#@! (three way tie at 4-4, but they are 2-0 in division, having beaten the Niners and Rams).

I understand and agree to an extent with the concerns about the overhauls, but I would say they are more of a threat to the systems in place vs. "democracy." My concerns are in line with Chesterton's Fence -- don't just tear down the fence (system) without understanding why the fence is there in the first place. -
Having kids is not for everyone, so I'm not trying to convince you otherwise. Also, ASU has come a long way from being just a party school in the 80s and 90s. Here are some latest rankings for their engineering school: Rank Metric Publication date #35 Undergraduate Program [#20 among public universities] 2024 #45 Graduate Program [#25 among public universities] 2024 #11 Online Master's in Engineering Programs 2024 #7 Online Master's in Engineering Programs for Veterans 2024 https://engineering.asu.edu/rankings/ My two older kids graduated from the engineering school; the third and youngest is the daughter working in the fashion industry in NYC that I've mentioned.

Good point on RFK. Yes, RFK would love the opportunity to overhaul the FDA. But do you really think that means he would support a coup of the nation to do it? (I'm using "you" in the general sense; you said you don't think that is the plan). -

This whole concept of "Trump just wants to get richer" is dumb; I discussed it recently and got crickets in response. Trump is rich, he doesn't need to risk assassination in his 80s to have the Secret Service stay at his resorts for incremental gain. Meanwhile, Obama and Biden went from 6 figures to 8 figures in net worth in the past 10-15 years. So yes, some politicians benefit tremendously financially from their service. I would say you are looking at the wrong people. And really, Elon? Like, he needs all of the effort he plans for the Efficiency job, because he's going to go from $50B to... what exactly? People like Musk and Trump are driven by their egos much more than their pocketbooks, at this stage of their lives. -
Certainly, not finding the right partner to have/raise children is an issue. To your other points though... I respectfully submit that you were talking to the wrong men. I've told men about having kids: in a way it is saying that you are done with your previous life and ready for a new life. But this new life provides you the highest highs, the lowest lows, the loudest laughs, the hardest tears... My three children are all in their 20s, all graduated Arizona State, all have great jobs, and all are self-sufficient. My oldest, 28 yr old son, used to have an attitude similar to yours -- not wanting some chick to take half of his empire (in fairness, he does make 6 figures). But then he saw me go through my cancer journey, with my wife/his mom supporting me the whole way, and my children as well... he's been dating a girl for two+ years now, I'm fairly confident that he'll marry her. Anyway, I wouldn't have traded the experience for the world.

It's funny, I was thinking about it this weekend... all of this pablum about Trump taking over the country, from the MSDNC that the Leftie simps like @TrailGuy lap up -- think about who is in his coalition. Musk, RFK, Gabbard. What do they have in common? A desire to improve the system, yes. But also and to my point: They don't need Trump. Musk is not some sycophant looking to keep his government gig. Nor RFK, nor Gabbard. They are all fine without Trump. They aren't going abandon their principals and help Trump to try to coup the nation. -
Why is it smart to not have kids?

The behavior is a choice. The feeling is a combination of physiology and environment/experiences. HTH -
Tim is yip yipping again, desperately trying to find some reason to give this guy part of the blame. Can somebody help him who is in this discussion and give him the small victory he craves? He won't stop until he gets it. TIA.

You see, CNN covers up the Nazi lead by saying "there have been good and bad." It gives the illusion of impartiality to... some folks. If you click through the link, you'll see lots of photos of Nazis as well. Let me state it a different way. If Kamala held a rally at MSG, do you think CNN would have written a similar article? -

Trump's rally at MSG is Nazi$#@! https://www.cnn.com/2024/10/27/politics/trump-madison-square-garden-rally/index.html CNN, not a hack Leftie source. I look forward to our Leftie/centrists coming in here and defending this. -
Hey, I'm not looking to marry her or anything.

Defending national champion Penn State wrestling, an icon of PA, endorses Trump. PA is his.

jerryskids replied to jerryskids's topic in The Geek Club
Well, the "PA is his" is a little tongue in cheek, inasmuch as this one endorsement doesn't actually guarantee his win. That being said, I think it's interesting that more people seem confident supporting Trump this time around. -
Absolutely! That strap definitely highlighted the mammaries.

I didn't say that they represented the average PSU student opinion. Nobody cares about those, anyway. But as you know, people like Penn State wrestling. You say pandering, I say politicking. -
I can't believe people are burying the lead here... ... she has a great rack!

It's a good sign. I grew up in NE PA, Catholic Polish country. There was no clear pro team to root for, but Penn State was the clear favorite, with Notre Dame second. It's a bigger deal than you think. -

Who do the finance folks at your company endorse? I'm wondering from a finance perspective, if you have that. -
