It's like I've tried to explain to @weepawsregarding abortion in AZ. He supports a complete opposition to abortion, and as such, supports the 1864 AZ law completely outlawing it. I on the other hand, generally oppose it as a choice of convenience, and would like to work towards limiting that. Weepaws, and AZ MAGA folks, don't realize that by supporting the complete ban, they are enabling the constitutional change on our ballot this year which would allow abortion by choice up to birth, because that absolutely would win. Basically, it's a question of letting the perfect be the enemy of the good. I understand the philosophical simplicity of folks like weeps. I'm sure he feels that he'll stand in front of God and say, by golly, I opposed it! Never mind the fact that his opposition allowed many more abortions to take place. If there is a heaven with a Judeo-Christian God, I presume he'll be easy on him. He means well. But he doesn't understand how to win. Anyway, I digress. That same attitude gave us Kari Lake, who will lose. See above.

The Republican party in AZ has gone full ratard. For governor, we had a true conservative candidate who would have mopped the floor with Katie Hobbs, in Karrin Taylor Robson. Instead we went with Lake, who lost to a person as exciting as watching grass grow. Now we've doubled down for the open Senate seat, again sending Lake out there instead of Mark Lamb (whom I voted for in the recent primary). Lake will get destroyed by Ruben Gallego, who is way more progressive than Sinema was. Way to win, AZ GOP!

I appreciate the response. Regarding Harris, we shall see how well-spoken she has become in the debates (especially if she agrees to multiple). Yes, I'm saying that high tax rates are anathema to corporate success, and yet they seem to be successful. Quite the conundrum. Why would that be? Which led me to a deeper dive into their system. Significant refining revenue: is Minnesota in a similar position to dominate the American green energy landscape? I doubt it. Walz is basically talking a good game about green energy while spending all that sweet, sweet refining tax revenue. I'm pretty sure you can come up with a theory on the ethnic breakdown, if you think about it.
