You get Trump at "T" on Google? I don't.

Are human drivers as an occupation going to go extinct?

Also, the shape of my lot leads to a lot of driveway room. The previous owners did a remodel where they extended the house, and with it the garage. Without the extra rooms/space from that remodel, we wouldn't have bought it. But the garage is sadly short in depth -- a lot more feet could have been added, and the per square foot price for garage space would IMO have been minimal. As it is, I can't fit any truck other than a Maverick-class in it. -

I see what you did there. The "last mile" is something I've dealt with in my work life when the discussion of fiber-optic home internet began 30+ years ago. Getting fiber to a distribution point near your home was relatively straightforward; getting it that final amount TO your house was a major PITA. I think the analogy generally rings true for this situation. The vehicle can get to your house but... what to do with the package? Ima think Amazon has some smart people working on this. -

For things like ride sharing/human transportation... yeah, the writing is on the wall. Deliveries have that pesky "last mile" problem of getting the package from the road to your door, but I expect that it is solvable, it'll just take a while longer. -

I didn't see that when I was watching. There is a surprising amount of judging involved for a sport where they hook up a bunch of circuits to determine who stabs who first.

I haven't read the last few pages so I apologize if this is a repeat, but: has it been discussed that Google is trying to memory-hole this? If you search for "assassination attempt on Trump," there is no autofill for "Trump." Until the last "p", the top response is "Truman". When you enter the "p", there is no autofill. Try it.

Harrison Butker releases a statement responding to the Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Well... this new painting adds some food for thought. After a little nibble, a few thoughts, I don't think some guy's opinion on X makes it "most likely." Also, I don't believe the creative director referenced this painting as an inspiration, but perhaps I'm wrong. Also the fat Jewish queer lesbian has a much more prominent halo than Apollo, which frankly, if you hadn't told me it was a halo, I'd have not even noticed. Also she is in bright blue, which is a distinguishing feature of the robe on Jesus in the Last Supper. It's not a hill I'm going to die on, and I unfortunately did not get to see the ceremony live, so I was impacted by the reactions of others, so I am open to being biased to some extent. That being said, it's clear to me that this Jan artist made a living of making close facsimiles of the Last Supper. In that vein, and to your point, you would think that they would have seen the clear correlations. -
The fencing women just finished. Spoiler: the three medalists are a little old by olympic standards, but still quite hot/MILFy.

The blue guy seems to be Dionysus, but the fat blue Jewish queer lesbian with the halo at the center of the table doesn't have any clear role in the Dionysus painting. Especially with the halo, the only interpretation that makes sense is that of Jesus at the Last Supper. To me they are trying to merge both scenes into one giant rainbow orgy of love. I also don't get the weird flex by the left with "it's just a painting, Da Vinci isn't in the Bible$#@!" pablum. I see Rusty regurgitating the talking point, not surprisingly, but it doesn't make sense. It's an iconic painting of a key event in Christianity. When you think of the Last Supper, you think of that painting, and vice versa. -
FDA approves blood test to detect colon cancer for those at 'average risk'
jerryskids posted a topic in The Geek Club
This is great news! My dad died of colon cancer, and two good friends of mine have had it and gone through horrific treatments. It's not perfect, but hopefully more people will get screened. https://abcnews.go.com/Health/fda-approves-blood-test-detect-colon-cancer-average-risk/story?id=112364193 Queue up the "Biden is curing cancer$#@!" comments. -
Not really. Agile is a real thing, with processes and everything. It is often contrasted with the historical "waterfall" approach, where all requirements are set up front. There are pluses and minuses to it, but regardless, neither of those approaches has anything to do with a field sales team.
-
We were a field sales force, we didn't implement SW systems. We interacted with humans regarding our SW, and their needs weren't set on 2-week boundaries.
-
I worked for a small company that was run by technologists, and these particular guys loved Agile. So they tried to impose the methodology on our sales and field engineering team. I tried searching the interwebs on how to make this work, but I couldn't find anything, because it is dumb -- priorities change on a daily or hourly basis in the field, based on the needs of customers.

While I'm fixing sports: archery has too much technology. An 8 is a disappointment, WTF? Give them a bow and an arrow, none of this other stuff. As a bonus, instead of a target, have them shoot a stag.

I've been watching rugby, and agreed on the scrum. Also, I feel like scrums used to be more... competitive? It seems like the guy with the ball just rolls it out the back and picks it up. In my (admittedly failing) memory, the ball would get sent into the middle and each side would drive forward to get position to kick the ball out. This latter interpretation makes the scrum more of a "jump ball," whereas the current method has no value that I can discern.

What did Trump mean when he told Christians: "In four years, you won’t have to vote again"?
jerryskids replied to squistion's topic in The Geek Club
But he said it! To lefties, if Trump says something they can interpret as the end of democracy as we know it, it's an indisputable truth. Everything else Trump says is a lie. HTH -

We have many posters here who claim to be centrist or right leaning, but post nearly 100% pro-leftist stuff. Some might say that you fall into that group. I'm not sure why such a position appeals to so many people, but we clearly see it in action on this bored. -

This has not been shown on TV or streaming to my knowledge. So thanks for the spoiler.

Wrong. My church does a tremendous amount of good works in the community. Sure, some people mail it in, as they do in protestant variations, as well as cults like weepaws'.
