But in the case of Abrego Garcia, they could easily change the outcome to something that is popular with the country as a whole - having El Salvador release him from custody, even if they don’t bring him back here. I have a hard time believing Trump himself is that adamant about keeping him in jail there, to me that reeks of someone else making the decisions.

I like Trump. I don’t really like a lot of the people around him. At this point he seems to possibly be an even bigger puppet than Biden was. Him saying he didn’t know anything about how they were handling Abrego Garcia (and telling people to “talk to the lawyers”) is evidence of that.
