You remember wrong, unless maybe I said something about being old, as the biggest risk factor by far for Covid deaths was age. CDC tracked both “with Covid” deaths and deaths where Covid was the underlying cause. Pre-Omicron, 90% of “with Covid” deaths had it as the underlying cause. If other causes of death were just being marked as Covid, we should have seen other causes go down which we didn’t. Covid deaths were almost entirely incremental. Thinking there were only 3k Covid deaths might be one of the dumbest things ever said on this forum.
