1st League - draft info

Recommended Posts

Guys,

We will start our draft on May 4th @ 12:01 PM (est) using the draft

tracker on http://fflnet.myfantasyleague.com/fflnet20...2001/home/5835. If

anyone has any questions or problems, contact me BEFORE the draft starts

(813) 684-8021.

Also, as I mentioned I built a portal for any league info that we can't

put on the myfantasyleague.com site. Here is the url for the portal http://fsasites.topcities.com/ (we are the Lombardi League).

Take a look and let me know what you think (ideas, comments and

complaints). Also, let me know if you don't have your password (for the

website).

This message will contain important information regarding our

myfantasyleague.com draft, including how to make your picks. If you

still have questions regarding this draft after receiving this

message, please let me know.

First, our league home page is at http://fflnet.myfantasyleague.com/fflnet2001/home/5835 - please go there

now and bookmark it (or add it to your favorites) for easy reference in

the future.

Next, in order for this draft to work, you should make every effort to

check your email and our league web site at least two to three times a

day, seven days a week, until the draft is over. Please be considerate

of your fellow drafters, and make your picks promptly. If at any time

you anticipate being unable to check the site at least two to three

times a day, please consider using the "Pre-Draft" feature described

below.

HOW TO CHECK ON THE STATUS OF THE DRAFT

---------------------------------------

To check the status of the draft, including what picks have been made,

and whose turns are coming up in the draft, you can either go to http://fflnet.myfantasyleague.com/fflnet20...ons?L=5835&O=17

to see the league draft report, or follow these steps:

1) Go to our league home page at http://fflnet.myfantasyleague.com/fflnet2001/home/5835

2) Select the "Draft Report" option from the top of the page, or click

on the "Draft Report" link in the "My Fantasy League" section of the

footer on the league home page. Either option will show you the same

draft report.

Again, it's important that you check on the status of the draft as often

as possible.

HOW TO DRAFT

------------

In order to draft, please follow these simple steps:

1) Go to our league home page at http://fflnet.myfantasyleague.com/fflnet2001/home/5835

2) Go to the bottom of the page. Under the "For Owners" heading, make

sure that the "Draft" option is selected.

3) Under the "Select Franchise(s)" heading, select your franchise name

from the list.

4) Enter your password in the box labeled "Password:"

5) Press the "Go!" button.

6) On the next page that appears, in the section that is titled "Please

Select A Player Or Team Below", decide which player you would like to

pick, and use your mouse to select that player. All players are listed

in alphabetical order. You can use the "Show Only:" option to see a

subset of the available players.

7) If you'd like to include a message to all owners with your pick,

enter the message in the area labeled "Optional Pick Comments:"

8) Press the "Make Selection" button. On the next page you will get

confirmation of the pick that you have just made, and all owners in your

league will receive email regarding your pick.

HOW (AND WHY) TO PRE-DRAFT

--------------------------

An on-line draft can be a very time consuming process. One way that we

can greatly reduce the time it takes for this draft is the "Pre-Draft"

feature. This pre-draft system allows each owner to select players for

future rounds even if it is not yet their turn to pick. Unlike a blind

draft, this pre-draft system is strictly voluntary, and leaves it up to

the individual owner to decide what rounds they would like to pre-draft

for, and how many picks they would like to make in each round. Best of

all, no other owner can find out the pre-draft picks you have made.

To pre-draft, follow these steps:

1) From the league home page

(http://fflnet.myfantasyleague.com/fflnet2001/home/5835), select the

Draft option under the For Owners heading.

2) Select your franchise name from under the "Select Franchise(s)"

heading.

3) Type in your password.

4) Press the Go! button.

5) If it's your turn to pick, you will see a message indicating that,

and you may draft normally. Otherwise, you will see a message indicating

that you may pre-draft for future rounds.

6) Select several players and team from the list of available players or

teams. The more you pick, the better chance you will have of actually

getting one of them.

7) Select the round that you are pre-drafting for.

8) Press the Make Selection button.

9) From the next web page, you will see a list of your pre-draft picks,

and a column titled Order. Prioritize your picks by having the number 1

in the Order column next to your first preference, 2 next to your second

preference, and so on.

10) Press the Submit Pre-Draft button.

11) You will receive a confirmation on the next web page of the

pre-draft picks that you just made.

12) Once the person in front of you has picked (or their pre-draft pick

has been made for them), your highest priority available pick will be

made for you, and everyone in your league will receive an email

confirmation of this.

If you later change your mind and decide to remove your pre-draft picks

for a certain round (before drafting for that round, of course!), you

can follow all of the steps above, except don't select any players or

teams from the list of available players and teams. This will make

myfantasyleague.com forget your pre-draft picks for that round.

A WORD ABOUT EMAIL

------------------

The web site will automatically send email to all owners in our league

as soon as a draft pick is made. Keep in mind that sometimes delivery

of these email messages can take up to several hours, depending on a lot

of factors out of our control. With that in mind, we strongly recommend

that you do not simply rely on email messages to track the status of the

draft, but also check on the status of the draft using the ways outlined

in the "HOW TO CHECK ON THE STATUS OF THE DRAFT" section above.

Thanks, and happy drafting!

We will start our draft on May 4th @ 12:01 PM (est)

Bill, I will not be available on that day until about 8:00pm est. On the 5th I would be able to make myself avaiable at about 5:00/6:00pm est. The following weekend is much more flexible for me as I'll be at home for several days.

Guys,

If you can't make it on that day (for whatever reason) just go before hand and select players that you want in a specific order

i.e.

#1 Faulk

#2 Warner

#3 Alexander

#4 Manning

.

.

.

#24 Duece McCallister

I would recommend doing at least 12 picks (and mybe 24 -- two full rounds depending on how long you are going to be away from a computer).

Also, EVERYONE feel free to call me at home (813-684-8021) if you are unable to get to a computer and I will let you know what has happened and select a player for you (that you tell me to).

Since the Landry League is drafting first (April 27th) we will know a little bit more as to how this will play out for us in the Lombardi League. So, everyone don't worry, we will get it worked out.

Also, re-read the instructions below

As far as I know that day works good for me. But if anything should change I'll be sure to set a draft card.
