Zap 0 Posted August 26, 2003 Alstott is what he is and we all know what he is. I didn't draft him because of the comments from Gruden about getting him more involved. I didn't draft him because of the Pittman situation making him more active. I drafted him hoping one or both of those happen, but mostly to know that I have a guy I can insert in bye weeks or injury situations that always has the potential for a couple tds and 80 yards total. Again I endure 22 picks with a small handful of players in which I hope two come back to me. This will be an interesting section for me. Now start picking! t.j 35 Posted August 27, 2003 Alstott's high on my list of remaining backs. As for Sharpe, I have him as his own tier 2 among the tight ends. I gotta fill out another starting spot, I've still got 4 to go.
Zap 0 Posted August 27, 2003 I think Sharpe was a conservative yet appropriate choice. I feel the same about Alstott. Carter was one of four DLs I had in my travel weary mind. It was one of those inflight moments of clarity that enlightened me with Grant before the others. I'm wondering about pressurized cabins and fantasy decisions though. Nice to see Ayatollah show up for a pick. I AM ENFORCING THE THREE HOUR TIME LIMIT, AS ADVERTISED, AND AGAINST THE WISHES OF A GOIDPANKAL MINORITY. Sorry, but until we have an agreed upon date and time to go live, I feel the need to push this. Follow the sticky post about Time Limits and we should all be fine. Zap 0 Posted August 28, 2003 I like the Emmitt pick, but I expected him to be around for a few more rounds. I'm amazed how disrespected he is. I thought pushing 1000 last year was a feat considering that offense. He is and always will be superior to Hambrick. Yes, I'm a Cowboy homer, but even Parcells summed this up by saying Hambrick is no Emmitt Smith. Has he declined? Oh yeah. Was he a value in round 10 with this little RB run? I think so. I was hoping he'd be my #4, but not expecting to pick him til rd 13. Guess, I better set my sights on Toefield after all.
Sisters of No Mercy 0 Posted August 28, 2003 I was very suprised Lelie made it back to me with his performance Monday night. I am probaly the hurtinist at WR so far, but I saw a couple of teams that I was sure would want some WR help before me. Stoked that he was still there. Could very well break my starting line-up week 1.
t.j 35 Posted August 28, 2003 I am starting to wish I'd picked an RB4 instead of a TE1.
t.j 35 Posted August 28, 2003 teddyt: 11.03 Keith Bulluck, LB TEN For PROVIDENCE FRIARS (see...isn't this easy )
teddyt 0 Posted August 28, 2003 Well for two days I had my mind absolutely made up on which two defensive players I was going to pick in 10 and 11. Then I panicked and changed my mind within 5 minutes. I like the security blanket of having Hearst with Barlow, and while I would have liked to have had him available to me later on, the little run on RBs convinced me it was now or never. No problems, I figured I'll still get a quality defensive player in Rd 11. Then I started looking at the WR left, and didn't like what I saw...thus the Taylor pick. I'm not a big believer in Taylor, and I also have Heap, but there is not alot of quality left and he was a couple of teirs above any other WR left on my board. I know the defensive players I was targeting will be long gone by the time it gets back to me, but at least there's a bit more depth left on the defensive side of the ball. Now I have TWO Ravens in my starting lineup (and none of them are defensive players). Do I suck, or what
friar 0 Posted August 28, 2003 At this point of the draft, I feel very comfortable with my team. Except for the TE spot (where I missed out on Heap), I have all my starters in place. I will definately play 2 LB's for the flex position Porter and Bulluck, next to my starting LB Zach Thomas. Jason Taylor will be a beast. Yet I am still torn between the Dawkins pick and Archuleta that I chose not to pick. Did not think Lamont Jordan would so quickly be off the table, and despite all the positive thing happening in NE for Faulk, did not envision him going and me left with Ant. Smith at the end of round 10. Yet, I believe I have sufficient coverage at RB spot now. Never had a better WR trio, and Brady just scored 6TD in 4 games where he played I believe about 6 quarters in total. I know NFL is not like that; otherwise he would be looking at a 64TD season. Not too shabby. not at all...
Diesel07 0 Posted August 28, 2003 I saw on ESPN how the Cardinals wants to give Emmitt 20-25 carries a game, so i thouhgt he was the best back available at the moment. I was considering taking Big-Moe or Da-Buss, but i already have Culpepper and Ward on my team, so i excluded them from my list. I was then left with Shipp, Emmitt, and Jordan and Emmit was the the only STARTING back available so.
t.j 35 Posted August 28, 2003 I just noticed that Ray Ray sent me picks. He sent them to Zap too but to the mauiwhims@yahoo.com LaVar Arrington is not in Yahoo as he is not a member of the NFLPA so I went to his second choice, Peterson. And I swear to God Wilson was the top guy on my fraft bored!! I had some reservation about picking him since I already had a Bronco but even so I wasn't stealing off your list Mr. Lewis, honest. Zap 0 Posted August 29, 2003 I got Jake Plummer, so if any of you have an unfortunate injury at QB know you can trade with me for Brooks. I can't imagine benching Plummer with Shanahan, Portis, Smith, Sharpe, Lelie, McAffrey...
PIK 95 2 Posted August 29, 2003 Foreman was a nice grab there, one more pick until me.
PIK 95 2 Posted August 29, 2003 I wanted Morgan last round, so I was very happy he had made it back to me here. i was also very suprise spkes was still on the board at this point of the draft. Good value with both IMO.
