Bears | Azumah will retire

Wed, 22 Mar 2006 17:15:50 -0800

John Mullin, of the Chicago Tribune, reports Chicago Bears CB Jerry Azumah will be retiring because of an arthritic hip condition that flared in training camp and cost him the best part of his 2005 season. As noted earlier, the Bears will hold a news conference Thursday, March 23, to announce Azumah's plans.

Many thanks to Azumah for being a solid contributor on the field when healthy. He was an exciting kick returner until the injuries struck.

Very good D-II college RB. Too bad for him. Hopefully he has made enough scratch to prosper outside of the league.

Go Wildcats! Class of '88. Had a music class with Mike O'Malley. I cannot believe he is still in television!

Check out the stats for WR David Ball. He's from Vermont, can FLY and is only around 5 TDs away from breaking Jerry Rice's NCAA Div. II TD record.
