bammbamm 0 Posted March 23, 2006 http://vikings.scout.com/2/512563.html A league source has confirmed to scout.com that the Vikings signed quarterback Mike McMahon to a two-year contract and a team source announced the signing of strong safety Tank Williams. Williams is a 6-foot-3, 223-pound strong safety who spent his first four years in the NFL with the Tennessee Titans after being a 2002 second-round draft pick. He has averaged 66 tackles and 1.25 interceptions per season, but he hasn’t received much interest in the free agent market, possibly because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament he suffered on Nov. 14, 2004. Williams is expected to compete with Willie Offord, who is coming of an ACL tear last year, for the starting spot at strong safety. Can anyone else confirm? SmartassBoiler 0 Posted March 23, 2006 That'd be a solid signing if Tank can ever recover his speed and quickness. The dude was really good before blowing out his knee.
Sho Nuff 720 Posted March 23, 2006 Not terrible...not great. The injury should be a concern. Just an average player while here in TN. And before anyone asks... Im a Titans season ticket holder...so Ive seen quite a bit out of him.

mozzy84 0 Posted March 23, 2006 Avg would be an upgrade over Corey Chavious. Hey he's only 25, I like this signing. Vikings sign QB McMahon and safety Tank Williams Free agent quarterback Mike McMahon, released by Philadelphia this week, signed a two-year contract to serve as Brad Johnson's backup. Also added was hard-hitting safety Tank Williams, 25, who had spent his four-year career with Tennessee. http://www.startribune.com/503/story/326352.html
Timinator 0 Posted March 23, 2006 Couple of good signings today. Zigi impresses the hell outta me. Good players who have some upside and really fit the cap well. It's shame I can't stand Vikings fans or the toilet bowl they play in right now. But it is nice to see an owner with the heart of a lion close up.
Vikings4ever 570 Posted March 23, 2006 Vikings | T. Williams agrees to terms Thu, 23 Mar 2006 13:48:58 -0800 Adam Caplan, of the Pro Football News and Injury Report, reports the Minnesota Vikings have agreed to terms with free agent S Tank Williams (Titans). Terms of the deal were not disclosed. I like the signing, assuming the money is reasonable. It fills a big hole, and Williams is the best saftey left.
