Guest stevejohnson Posted March 30, 2006 Fanball (www.fanball.com) is reporting that Miami is considering bringing in K. Collins as a "backup" to Culpepper. If they are going to pay Collins the kind of money he will want, my guess that they aren't sure if Culpepper won't be ready to start the season so they want an experienced guy to hold his place. football_scooter 0 Posted March 30, 2006 Let the "Kerry Collins will throw for 5000 yards and 40 TDs" talk begin. I mean, it seems to every time he's acquired by a team ,*cough! Raiders, cough!*

Guest stevejohnson Posted March 30, 2006 As a Steeler fan, I would love to see Collins week #1 over Culpepper Of course but if Culpepper isn't ready to play for the 1st month of the seaosn, isn't Collins better then what they have? I think Collins will hold out and go to the Ravens for a chance to start but if they don't want him, Miami may be his best option.

Unless Dante did the impossible and healed in months what many cannot do in years. Collins gives them a talent that can do just well enough, but not someone you are too apt to fall to deeply in love with. So that when Dante is back, you won't hesitate but to start Culpepper. Right now there isn't many other FA QB's I would think the Phins would want, that they have not already had before. About the only other option is to wait for the lions to drop some of theres, other than Harrington. But this may not happen until midway through training camp or the last cut date. Voltaire 5,316 Posted March 31, 2006 F*ck those washouts. The team should just go with Cleo Lemon. Granted, he has far less experience but he also has way more upside.
Raider 84 29 Posted March 31, 2006 Collins 42 TDs 4900 yards is real reasonable on the Dolphins. He just fell a little short in Oakland.
