Is Karma real? Anyone had a bad or good Karma experience?

I'm pretty much the nicest person I know, I go out of my way to help people, treat everyone with equal respect and I gotta say I live a pretty good life, free of trouble and harm, is this because of my Karma?

 

Anyone out there ever been a victim to Karma?

 

A few weeks ago a buddy of mine was picking on this kid from work and when he turns to walk away, bashes his head on a ladder some dude was carrying down the hall, ended up with 18 stiches and some staples....my first thought when that happened was...Karma for picking on that dude....
