fuzzy 0 Posted April 18, 2006 Has anyone noticed the NFL schedule and/or heard any reason for the reduced amount of 4pm EST games once the byes are finished? The final bye week this year is week 9 instead of week 10. Starting in week 10 there will be 10 or 11 games to start at 1pm EST. (There are actually 11 or 12 scheduled but 1 of these games will be moved to Sunday night.). Weeks 10, 11, 14, 15 & 16 have 3 late games (4pm EST) scheduled. Week 12 has only 1 late game scheduled. Weeks 13 & 17 has only 2 late games scheduled. Has there been any annoucement that some of the 1pm EST will be moved to 4pm games once the bye weeks are finished? nobody 2,052 Posted April 18, 2006 My guess is it is a scheduling quirk. They only play those late games if their is West Coast or Mountain timezone team hosting the game. There are only a small number of teams that qualify anyway, right?

Week 12 is Thanksgiving week, there are 3 games on Thursday, hence fewer on Sunday afternoon. Week 17 has one Saturday game so one fewer Sunday afternoon game. Can't explain week
shovelheadt 62 Posted April 18, 2006 Might have something to do with the NFL being able to grab any 1PM game they feel like and rescheduling it to Sunday night or Sunday afternoon. The Colts/Bengals game of last year was moved to 4:00PM.
