This is Big News ...It's a prelude to the Arrington Signing. Short and Arrington played together at Penn State and Pierce and Arrington are friends from Washington. Giants will have a damn good group of linebackers

kristv 0 Posted April 21, 2006 Who's Carpenter He played opposite A.J. Hawk at Ohio. Very good value pick if taken in bottom half of the first round/top half of the second round.

Murf, if the Giants sign Arrington, they could really go any direction with their first pick. They could still possibly look at a LB. Their next big pressing needs are DT and a WR to replace Toomer in the future, and their might not be a standout at either of those positions at #25 in the draft. They likely will go best talent available (especially if someone slides) and look for DT's and a WR in the other first day rounds.
Big Blue 06 195 Posted April 21, 2006 IMO, if the Giants sign Arrington, they will still go LB in the first round. With Arrington, Pierce, Short and a rookie (likely Carpenter) as their top 4 LBs, they would have a very solid core. This would be a huge move, as this was their weakest position last year. Barnaby Wilde 0 Posted April 22, 2006 Maybe Aarington is coming to New York after all... http://www.bigblueinteractive.com/ http://www.insidefootball.com/ Short, Pierce, Aarington at starting LB...not a bad trio
