What kind of fantasy value will "Fast" Willie Parker have this year? With Bettis gone he should see more carries on the goal line. But how much will Staley play this season. Will Parker be given the "between the 20s" work while Staley gets the goal line carries? I'm trying to access his value as he could be my second keeper. I have to choose between Parker and Roy Williams. Parker could have a huge year but Williams could be on the three year plan. Any thoughts?

I do not think Parker will get the ball on the goal line. Staley, VH or someone else will. Still, I would keep Parker. Williams is more of a question mark than Parker IMO.

I have not looked at mock drafts. If you are allowed 2 keepers and drop Parker, he will be taken in the first or early second round because so many RBs will have been kept by other teams and the RB talent in the draft will be low. If you drop Roy W. he can probably be picked up in the 3rd or 4th rd.

fwp will get 1300 yds but only 8 tds. he has no chance to score inside the 5 as that job will go to staley or duckett when they trade 4 him. i would keep him though cause he will hit a long td enough times and the burgh runs the ball almost 60 percent of the time. guarantee 20 touches a game. runs a great screen pass also.

I would love to see PIT get Duckett. He would be great insurance for an injury to Staley. The interesting thing would be who would be active. Last year they deactivated Staley using FWP, Bettis and VH. I can not see them sitting a healthy Staley again or deactivating TJ. Would VH be the odd man out? I am sure at some point TJ or Staley would get injured and the question would be moot.

I don't see them making a move for Duckett now... they just got Cedric Humes in the 7th and he fits their need for a power back very well. If they really wanted Duckett, I think that trade would have happened long ago.

I was thinking about that too. In my league virtually all good backs are being kept. The best availiable in my draft will be Rudi Johnson, Corey Dillon, and Warrick Dunn.

Agreed. The three that you mentioned will probably go in the first 5 or 6 picks. Iam not high on Dunn, but people will reach for a RB when there is no better option.

Parker is going to get between 15-20 touches a game. Probably nothing from inside the 10. I would consider him a strong number 2 back on my fantasy squad. 1200 and 8 seems pretty reasonable.

I have a similar dilemma. I can keep FWP for an 11th round pick or Plaxico Burress for an 8th round pick. I'm leaning towards FWP. I have the 2nd overall pick in my draft this year. So I figure I'll go RB, RB, then best available WR and I'll have FWP as my flex back every week.

Saw an article yesterday where Cowher said in an interview that Staley and Haynes would both get the chance to compete for Bettis's role, fwiw.

Steelers will not trade for Duckett. Falcons are asking too much for him.

ATL took Duckett off the trading block. I read it on KFFL, but didn't feel like pulling it up. My word is gold.

;) :first:

FWP will be a yardage machine but may struggle to score TDs. The Steelers don't need another RB because Staley is finally healthy and V. Haynes is a monster in short yardage. They could of had L. White but passed......

Still a long way to go. Humes looks like he's got the right skill set and past performance to be the Steelers short yardage and goal line back but he is a rookie and a lot can go wrong. Neither Staley or Haynes strike me as a step up from Parker in short yardage. In fact, I'd be surprised if Staley is able to play in more than ten games considering he's missed most of the past two seasons and is 31 years old.

Parker can conceivably surprise once again and take on more responsibility and touches. Remember, he didn't even play much in college so his learning curve is huge. I think 1300 - 1400 rushing yards and 35 - 40 receptions for 300 or so yards and 10 TD's isn't too much to expect.
