Parja 0 Posted May 3, 2006 Chiefs | Roaf not thinking about retirement Tue, 2 May 2006 15:47:46 -0700 The Associated Press reports Kansas City Chiefs OT Willie Roaf is no longer thinking about retirement. Roaf said, "I feel good. I'm working with the young guys. I'm still strong. I just have to make sure I keep running and take care of my conditioning." Roaf added that he is impressed with head coach Herman Edwards and it was a conversation with him that helped persuade him to return for a 14th season. Sweetness_34 0 Posted May 3, 2006 I know he had some character issues at NO (something about people sleeping with other's wives), but why the heck did NO ever let him go? And if I am not mistaken he was traded for a 2nd rounder I believe. I cannot understand how the NFL works sometimes. People like Marshall Faulk and Willie Roaf get traded for 2nd rounders, and those same GMs say that the draft is a crap shoot and every draft only has 4 or 5 special players. The same thing with Alexander and Edge, who were apparently available for 2nd rounders.

The same thing with Alexander and Edge, who were apparently available for 2nd rounders. I've always been perplexed about that as well. Teams put a ton of value in draft picks while admitting to it being rare to get star talent from it. Compounded with the salaries the drafted guys get, it makes even less sense. I mean, Alex Smith is rolling in the dough, but he may never even be a decent QB in the NFL. WTF?

CA_7 0 Posted May 3, 2006 i believe joe horn slept with his wife, i don't think NO had a choice... At the end of the 2000 season, every New Orleanian and their mother (that includes my typically sports-averse mother) buzzed that Saints wide receiver Joe Horn had impregnated teammate Willie Roaf's wife. The rumor spread so widely that, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, 49ers coach Steve Mariucci asked Saints coach Jim Haslett about the Horn and Roaf tittle-tattle during a postgame handshake. After a few months of silence, Roaf scuttled the rumors by telling the Times-Picayune that he was his daughter's real father. Horn confirmed Roaf's declaration. "We make mistakes sometimes," Horn told ESPN, "but that is one mistake Joe Horn did not make. I did not sleep with Willie Roaf's wife." After Roaf punctured the rumor, the Times-Picayune's Dave Lagarde wrote that a gaggle of readers had accused him and the paper of covering up the affair. http://www.slate.com/id/2111295/
J-Money 4 Posted May 3, 2006 How high is everyone still on him with all the new coaches and with the line only getting older. In my dynasty league the LJ owner put him out as trade bait and said he wanted a young rb or a wr combo. I sent an offer of Caddy and 2 LB's that would start on his squad for LJ...His counter? S-Jax, Caddy, rookie pick 2.04 this year, and 2007 1st round pick. That's rediculous. 2 of the top 6 rbs you want when starting a new dynasty league for 1 of the top 3?
