Alls that article is saying is that both sides are still talking. If Millen continues to act like he holds the cards in this scenario the Lions will end up with nothing. And here's one from a detroit paper that says the exact opposite... ____ Millen hasn't given up on trading quarterback Joey Harrington. "There are still a couple teams that are interested," he said. That doesn't seem to matter because Harrington holds the cards and has declared he is going to Miami one way or another. He is due a $4-million roster bonus June 15 that no one wants to pay. He would have to restructure his contract to facilitate a trade, and he has agreed to a deal with the Dolphins. But the Lions could trade Harrington for a conditional draft pick. The team that acquired Harrington would have until June 15 to convince him to restructure his contract. If the team succeeded, it would sign him and send the Lions the pick. If it didn't, it would cut Harrington and give the Lions nothing -- which is what they look like they are going to get, anyway. Miami coach Nick Saban has told the media he is still talking to the Lions. But the Dolphins appear content to wait for the Lions to cut Harrington so they can sign him as a free agent. The Lions can handle the salary-cap implications of all scenarios. http://www.freep.com
Sweetness_34 0 Posted May 8, 2006 I musta been asleep at the wheel on that one. Well then, Miami is screwed That is why you pick up the Bears defense in all redrafts this year and laugh to the bank 2 games against immobile Brad Johnson with no WRs to throw to & a non-proven running game 2 games against the Kitna/Mccown garbage duo with no WRs to throw to & an iffy running game 2 games against Favre-led Packers with no Wrs to throw to and an iffy running game 1 game against the Suckington led Dolphins 1 game against the Losman led Bills with an iffy OL 1 game against the Alex Smith led 49ers 1 game against the (Maybe Mat Leinart by then?) Cards with an iffy OL 1 game against the Pennington/Ramsey led Jets That is quite a plethora of fantasy points in the making

DrJ 0 Posted May 8, 2006 in typical welchdog fashion, I am giving myself another opportunity to stick my foot in my mouth and look foolish. I can't get enough of those. why? top-5 defenses can be had off the waiver wire every ff season. those who waste a good draft pick on the bears defense (or any defense) are suckers. Assuming you have an eye for defensive talent. You were telling everyone what a waiver bargain the Lions were last season, so you'd best stick to drafting Da Bears. You were telling everyone what a waiver bargain the Lions were last season, so you'd best stick to drafting Da Bears. i've always picked a top-3 defense off the waiver wire early in every ff season. every. season. but you go knock yourself out and take your beloved bears in the single-digit rounds, homer dog. and the lions were a great waiver wire bargain in leagues i played in last year. they tailed off at the end but for a good chunk of the season they were out-performing defenses that people had used premium picks on. reality. swamp dog 0 Posted May 8, 2006 Yup, I'm sure the Lions Defense led you to victory across the board. Keep on giving out that great advice! i've never missed in the playoffs in ff. never. how about you? the lions defense was top-10 for most of the season in leagues i played in last year. really don't care what you think. again, go put your bears jersey on draft day, take jones in the 1st, mush in the 2nd, orton in the 3rd, and your bears defense in the 4th--"genius"

You've never seen a Lion FF player you didn't like. Good stuff.

You've never seen a Lion FF player you didn't like. Good stuff. i said harrington deserved last year before rendering a final judgment. but you always have struggled mightily with reading comprehension. the lions d was a top ff defense the entire first half of last season--including 2 or 3 monster weeks. they trailed off near the end when injuries decimated them. i had them and rotated them with other defenses (also from the waiver wire) and i did quite well (12-2 in one league). but to each his own
