New song

Recommended Posts

I know it's about a little girl, but it touched my heart just the same even though I have a little boy:

Gotta hold on easy as I let you go.

Gonna tell you how much I love you, though you think you already know.

I remember I thought you looked like an angel wrapped in pink so soft and warm.

You've had me wrapped around your finger since the day you were born.

Chorus:

Beautiful baby from the outside in.

Chase your dreams but always know the road that'll lead you home again.

Go on, take on this whole world.

But to me you know you'll always be, my little girl.

Verse 2:

When you were in trouble that crooked little smile could melt my heart of stone.

Now look at you, I've turned around and you've almost grown.

Sometimes you're asleep I whisper "I Love You!" in the moonlight at your door.

As I walk away, I hear you say, "Daddy Love You More!".

(Repeat Chorus)

Verse 3:

Someday, some boy will come and ask me for your hand.

But I won't say "yes" to him unless I know, he's the half

that makes you whole, he has a poet's soul, and the heart of a man's man.

I know he'll say that he's in love.

But between you and me. He won't be good enough!

(Repeat Chorus)

You know who sings it? I have three girls, 7,7 and 2 years old, so I can relate.

Tim McGraw Baby! If you like, I can send you the file. It's on his greatest hits CD.

That is of course unless I frighten you too.... :D

Should have figured it was a country song.

Well are you going to answer my question or not?

If you like country, I just picked up Phil Vassers Greatest Hits and it is great, however, The Dixie Chicks new one leaves a little to be desired.

Anyone who listens to country frightens me period, which includes most of my family and friends. I did not know that song was country to begin with, but it did strike me as a great song to play at some type of "Baptist - pray for forgiveness convention." Please don't take it personally.

Of course it is. It's not about how much bling bling someone's got or some angry rant about how the world sucks. That would rule out some other types of music.

Bling, Bling. What does that mean? You are correct. Country music never changes.

I like anything that PV does, but the Hot Tub Song and Just Another Day in Paradise I really like. His version of My Next Thirty Years is better than TM imo. He is just an awesome piano player. As far as the Chicks, I havent listened to it enough to determine any favorites, but Not Ready To Make Nice I really like. I dont necessarily agree with everything they said, but I love anyone that can come out and basically tell everyone to stick it up their respective azzes!! Plus the last chorus is pretty strong. I think they wasted their time and real talent with all the slow stuff though.

Their "stick it up their respective azzes" angle has gotten way past old for the Chicks. They cried to Diane Sawyer/Barbara Walters (can't remember which it was) about how they just wanted the attention spotlight off of them and then proceeded to do a number of stupid stunts to continue to gain attention.

I hear what you're saying about doing things your own way, but a mammoth-size chip on one's shoulder is after a while just pathetic as opposed to admirable, IMO.

God help the boy who comes to the door expecting to take my daughter on a date. Not only will he be dealing with me, but my brother-in-law as well, and my BIL has a LOT of experience scaring guys away from my wife when she was younger.

I like Tim McGraw and looks like a pretty good song. Not even a year old and I can already see how a lot of that is gonna apply.

Actually, I live right off of Creighton PARKWAY. It is a tip that it's a completely different neighborhood. Tell that to your homies so they don't get lost.
