Bill E. 666 Posted June 8, 2006 Savannah along with Sea Island, GA hosted the G8 summit. Everyone expected protests and property damage like they had is Seattle a year or two before. There were supposed to be several anarchist type rallies scheduled to shift press away from the Summit. Nothing at all happened in Savannah. The protests drew like 10 people or were cancelled. A few months later the local Summit Security Co-ordinator spoke at our rotary club. It seems they did a jihad a bunch of the protest organizer’s message boards with hundreds of posts posing as a bunch of ass kicking local boys. They barraged the boards with messages like “ We can’t wait for ya’all to come down so we can show you some southern hospitality, kickass style. They had a black cop that would pose as a KKK member and told them they would have cross burnings at their protests. This security coordinator said they never laughed so hard in their lives. They would all go home and spend the night (unpaid time) on the computer messing with these people. The protest organizers would call the security coordinator with calls like this Protestor: We want to be sure that you have security in place for our rally in Forsythe Park. Security Coordinator: We can schedule to have a squad car drive by a couple of times. Protestor: Squad Car? There will be hundreds of protestors. We need dozens of cops on site, not a drive by squad car. We are getting death threats here. Security Coordinator in his best hick voice: This is really a bad week for us. You might not have heard but we have a summit going on. The Sons of the Confederacy will be in town holding rallies. These guys tend to drink a lot and get out of control. We will be pretty busy. One by one the protest organizers would cancel their rallies and suggest that the protesters skip Savannah because the local hick cops were too dumb to provide for their security. This thread.TIA But my example was a positive use of the board jihad. Still, you are correct. It is too bad that these posters don't use their time doing more constructive things like posting about Baseball, the 3 Stooges and 90's songs like you.
