JT 137 Posted June 20, 2006 I've done a fair amount of homework on the whole plasma vs lcd debate. Not looking to install it on a wall, so weight not an issue. Looks like plasma is the tip, but the room it's going in has lots of southern exposure, so lots of light. Yes, there are blinds and yes, most viewing is done at night. But those NFL Sunday afternoons... Any geeks got any feedback/experience with this issue, on either the lcd or plasma side? TIA
Patriotsfatboy1 1,432 Posted June 20, 2006 I don't know about which one works best in a well lit room, but there might be some good info here: http://www.crutchfieldadvisor.com/learning..._flatpanel.html
lickin_starfish 1,483 Posted June 20, 2006 I have a Viewsonic 37" LCD TV hanging on a wall perpendicular to a large picture window. It has Southern exposure, and I have absolutely no problems with the sunlight, even with the shades wide open. I have never used a plasma in the room, so I can't tell you if they work well in the sunlight. My Viewsonic is waaay better than the rear projection Panasonic HDTV I used to have. I could barely see that thing even with the shades pulled.
