and he over estimated. The writing was on the wall when a good part of the oline left. The D was already in bad shape despite the winning record the year before. Add the walker injury and the RB woes and it wasnt that far fetched to see the decline coming.

 

 

The D was top 10 last year. That's not bad shape.

The Packers lost Green, Davenport, Fisher, Walker, etc...

Nobody predicted that when they were making their predictions.

 

Sampdog predicts the demise of the Packers every year. I give him little credit that he finally got it right for the first time in 17 years because the Packers had a ton of injuries.

 

On the plus side, the Packers got to finally draft Chicago Bears/Detroit Lions style (high pick ) for the first time in 17 years.

Will they become Arizona East and Arizona more East like the Lions and the Bears for the next 2 decades?

Time will tell.

But I think they did pretty well for the future. We'll see.

To be clear: I'm not saying that Favre didn't play poorly last year. He made some terrible decisions and stupid, stupid throws.

 

What part of his physical game at age 36 has declined to the point where he is barely rated over Rodgers?

i predicted 5-8 wins for the packers last year at this time. this year it's 4-7.

 

there's a helluva lot that has to go right for the high end of 7-8 wins. i just don't see it. the interior o-line is very suspect, the wrs are all ?? after driver, the kicking game is suspect now. pickett was let go from the rams for not putting out effort and underachieving and he promptly blows off his first off-season workout in green bay.

 

there's some stuff being possibly assembled for down the road, but there isn't much to like about the packers or their chances in 2006.

 

Ummm...the Rams tried to resign Pickett...Green Bay wanted him more.
