And Coles was still there in the 16th round? OMG, what a find. You got 6 guys who are probably the #1 WR option on their team. RB could turn out to be very strong if Addai wins the job. TE is weak, but as loaded as you are at RB, who cares? I like it, nice job.
thebook 1 Posted July 5, 2006 Great WRs, but I worry a little about your RBs in a 10-team league. Parker should get more carries with the Bus gone, but is he going to get yanked at the goal-line every time? Not exactly what you want at RB2. I probably would've gone McGahee in Round 2, and then gone Boldin and D-Jax at WR - but that's just me. If Addai wins the starting job, you're fine. Mocks are where we learn. ellisonb11 0 Posted July 5, 2006 solid team, but in a real draft i dont see the questionable drafting that occured in the mock happening again. great value on bulger and matt jones late. solid team, i think u drafted well, while others didnt.

jgcrawfish 232 Posted July 5, 2006 If most of the ADP are coming from the mocks I've seen, I'm not putting a lot of stock in them, especially since most of the mocks aren't tweaked for individual league settings, which can really impact final numbers. The other thing is that people who get put on autopilot screw up the draft results. I was in one where Alex Smith (QB) was assigned by computer to someone in the 9th round. Sorry arse QB on perhaps the worst team in the league going in the 9th? Please! No, that draft result doesn't bump up Smith's ADP, but it does throw off other players who were available and should have been taken then. I've seen people actually take defense starting in Rnd 5, which would probably never happen in a truly competitive league draft. ADP is a good tool, but that's all it is. bgard72 10 Posted July 5, 2006 Thanks guys...appreciate the feedback. Interesting point on McGahee in round 2. I figured that last year, Parker and McGahee had almost the same total rushing yards and rushing TD's (Parker 1,202 with 4 TD's, McGahee 1,247 with 5 TD's). This year with the BUS gone, I figured that he might get some of his TD's (9 for the Bus last year). I don't know if Staley will be quite the same as what the Bus did for them. I was actually shocked that I got L Coles in the 16th round. I am really hoping that Addai wins the starting job....can even be a few games in the season when he does it. I was think more along these lines and echo pretty much what the others said. I think Deuce round 6 would be a monster steal. Even with having plucked 3 RB's already, I would have had to take him there and work a trade later. Round 7, you could have gotten a WR in Javon Walker or Joe Horn, instead of Driver the previous round. Still, I like the value you got in late rounds in Bulger, then also in rounds 12-16 were all great values in my opinion.
GhostofMeanMachine99 1 Posted July 6, 2006 Driver and Coles are great value picks. Driver's now the #1 in Green Bay, which is good news for you because you'll be starting two #1's at wideout. You're draft would have been real good had you been able to get Chris Chambers (instead of JJ at the next pick). I don't like the Addai pick. I would have grabbed Foster at that spot. Overall, I think you did pretty good. I would worry about the Colts defense, though. If the Colts can't establish any kind of running game, and Peyton continues his no huddle approach, the defense is gonna suffer.

I JUST missed Chambers and I was really hoping he would be there for me...missed him by 1 pick. We'll see about Addai. I am hoping he does very well in training camp and can be like a Caddy or R Brown in their rookie year. Good point about the Colt D...we'll have to keep an eye on that in pre-season.
