Rb draft movement

Recommended Posts

Willis, and C-mart the movers and the shakers, along with Dunn, Bell (?), Duece, Taylor, and Green.

This kind of looks like a necessary adjustment, as a few of these old vets had fallen off the face of the Earth, as far as ADP's go.

The big losers: Dayne (-6!), Davis, Bush, Foster, Addai, Gore and Brown.

Anyone have the scoop in Denver as to whats up with Dayne's big fall, and Bells climb. Denver also had the big shakeup between Walker and Rod Smith at wideout???

I think I'm going to avoid buying into the yearly Tatum Bell hype again this year. I know on the surface it appears as though Bell has a chance of actually getting the lion's share of carries, but given how incredibly productive the Denver running game was last year, why would Shanahan change anything?

Sure, it's Ron freakin Dayne, but he looked much different last year than any year in New York. I expect very similar production between him and Mike Anderson of last year, and I expect Tatum Bell to have a similar workload to last year as well, perhaps gaining a few more carries.

i'm not drinking the Bell kool-aid either. he can't stay healthy, i think dayne will be a better starter. i also think cobbs could be worth a look this year too. :(

Couple of the big sites came out last week w/ high praise on Bell, which pushed Dayne down. Cobbs is still of the radar for the most part, but I have a feeling that the kid may have a shot at the starting spot. Friggin Shanny is bi-polar when it comes to RB's so Cobbs has a good a shot as anybody. Rumors of Rhodes keeping the starting spot in Indy are hurting Addai. And the annual Fred Taylor has shaken the injury bug campaign has started already?

What a value Fred is, at his ADP, if he is healthy though. I will likely have 3 backs in the first 3 rounds, however, and won't be a buyer.

Absolutely! He's probably an easy top 15 back when healthy. DomDavis is cut from the same mold. That guy is like 1 TD and 100 total yards every week when right. Of course the problem with both is they're only "right" about 60% of the time.

A couple observations....

Steven Jackson looks to be separating himself as the clear cut #6

Jordan, Brown, Edge, Caddie, Rudi are stuck in the 7-11 tier. I personally see Caddy in that next tier, but oh well.

McGahee and Dom Davis are essentially the same, which is really surprising considering Davis' injury concerns and questionable job security.

I'm surprised to see Kevin Jones so high, but I suppose he has to do better than he did last year.

What the heck is Corey Dillon doing at #29!? I think a near-worst case scenario is 1,000 total yards and 8 TDs. That's good for the 15-20 range most years. Do they know something I don't? Jamal Lewis is ahead of him, for chrissakes. I mean, Deuce McAllister and Ahman Green above Dillon?

Ladell Betts behind Derrick Blaylock makes about zero sense to me, since Blaylock is 3rd on the depth chart by most accounts.

I think TJ Duckett is being undervalued. With Dunn healthy, he's still a marginal spot starter and if Dunn goes down, he becomes a marginal #2 RB. Not as much can be said for 3 of the 4 guys above him.

Dominic Rhodes at 35, today, is a good price. If one of those guys wins the job outright, it's him. He's probably still the short-yardage back.

That's the kind of input I was looking for

In a ppr league I would take Green ahead of Dillion. As for Duckett there not to happy with him in Atlanta and could explain why his value is low. Norwood has a good camp and TJ could fall of the face ot the earth unless he gets traded.

Tatum had close to 1000 yards last year.. I think he is a quality #2 back if you draft a Top WR or Peyton in the first two rounds.

PLUS - i anticipate more touches for Tatum - over 200 - he only had 173 last season

You're not worried about Gado winning the job outright (or at least splitting carries)?

Agreed on Norwood taking carries from Duckett, but I think the threat of rookie RBs taking away carries is overstates every year. Last year, it was Morency and Fason and a couple others I can't recall right now who were going to steal carries. Nothing ever came of that. Only guy who did was Gado, and that was because of injury. I understand they aren't 100% happy with Duckett, but I think the odds that Norwood cuts into his production are pretty slim. If anything, I think he takes more carries away from Dunn as they try to keep him fresh.

I would be more worried of Maroney taking carries from Dillion then of Gado from Green. Imo Green will be the starter if fully healthy. Gado did any nice job last year but he's raw and fumbles alot. Word out of Atlanta is that if Norwood looks good in camp there looking to trade Duckett.

Gado is also struggling bigtime with the new offense, and is now 4th on the depth chart.
