Parkers99 0 Posted July 23, 2006 From CBS Sportsline: DST Bengals, DST CIN News: Officers trying to arrest Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Matthias Askew after a parking violation used a Taser to subdue him and charged him with resisting arrest. The 24-year-old Askew struggled with officers trying to handcuff him Saturday evening and broke away before he was shocked, police spokesman Lt. Tom Lanter said. Askew ignored an officer's warning to move his illegally parked car and then refused to give his identification, Lanter said. Askew, also charged with obstructing official business, was released on his own recognizance and was scheduled to appear in court Monday, a jail official said. ------------------------------- - What a stupid tool! Parks in a handicap (or firelane, whatever) the cop tells him to move his car and it somehow escalates to being freakin' tasered?! At least this guy was smart enough not to want to tell the cops his name... better than wearing his own jersey
bigtuna 0 Posted July 23, 2006 what a pathetic organization. That book that came out a few years back called Pros and Cons: Criminals in the NFL, should come out with new book just on the Bengals. ' Teams built with losers tend to underachieve. I look for the Bengals to do so this year. They have 12-4 talent, but i think 9-7 is more their speed for 2006

He killed someone. If Palmer is healty the Bengals will make it to the AFC championship game.
tampa_fan_01 0 Posted July 24, 2006 Well Cinci has taken the cake for the summer. Congrats to having the team with the most arrests this summer! Dallas did it with alot of cons in the early and mid 90s. and Burt Reynolds did it with the guys from Longest yard. Maybe thats Marvins plan...
murf74 461 Posted July 24, 2006 Another week, another Bengal arrest. Marvin Lewis is building the all thug dream team. All the guys getting into trouble are all from his draft classes..... Bengals go from Cinderella to the Ugly Stepsister in just one short offseason. Marvin better put a serious curfew on these guys at camp.

murf74 461 Posted July 24, 2006 I dont even remeber this guy playing tho That's why Marvin, I predict, will use this guy as the scapegoat for all that has gone wrong and cut him.

Elon 0 Posted July 24, 2006 Can we start using all the old Cowboy jokes and starting inserting Bengals yet. I have this team missing the playoffs and doing some house cleaning next off season.
tampa_fan_01 0 Posted July 24, 2006 Best Cowboys moment has to be the Erik Williams / Mike Irvin incident with sissors. Least the Bengals arent trying to stab eachother to death... I mean, how the hell do you "accidently" slash someone with sissors

shovelheadt 71 Posted July 24, 2006 oh yeah go SPARTANTS I dont even remeber this guy playing tho Correct, this guy was on the bubble to begin with. He just signed his ticket home. They can easily cut him for "performance" reasons. Let's see if I can remember who all's focked up within the past year or so. Duane Clemmons - suspended 4 games for dope last year Chris Henry - caught with bags of dope in each shoe, pleaded down to something Chris Henry - DUI in Cincy/KY area..pending Chris Henry - Pulls stolen gun on crowd down in Florida..pending (he's focked) Chris Henry - Bought alcohol in KY for 3 minors..pending Odell Thurman - suspended 4 games for dope..according to the NFL policy, it means he's on his 3rd failed test AJ Nicholson - grand theft and vadalism for breaking into former teammates room..this happend about a week after the draft..pending. Frostee Rucker - vandalism and spousal battery..pending. Askew - resisting arrest and being a retard..pending. ON DECK - Ahmad Brooks (supplimental draft) Kicked of college team for failed drug test - The Chris Henry things surprised me because the issues he had in college weren't anyone near this serious. I think he flipped off the crowd once or something like that. - Nicholson should have never been drafted. He had already been accused of rape but pleaded down to stalking and indecent exposure. He also had a previous DUI. Marvin asked for it on this guy. - Rucker got suspended from Colorado state for an alleged rape/sexual assult. The current one dates back to last August. Again, we're talking about a guy with sex related charges. Nice job Marvin. Askew is gone, I wouldn't sign Nicholson and Rucker. That leaves Henry and Thurman. Word around Bengals land is that Thurman also flat out lied to Lewis and the Brown family about it, so he's on thin ice. Henry/Thurman will be hard to cut because of the players union rules. I'm guessing Henry gets cut during camp for "performance reasons" and Odell gets one more chance. what a pathetic organization. That book that came out a few years back called Pros and Cons: Criminals in the NFL, should come out with new book just on the Bengals. ' Teams built with losers tend to underachieve. I look for the Bengals to do so this year. They have 12-4 talent, but i think 9-7 is more their speed for 2006 Which will put them about 1 game ahead of the Pats. And yes, I'll back it up with whatever bet you'd like.
Pokey55 0 Posted July 24, 2006 I read an interesting take on this, I think it may have been Jason Whitlock's NFL Truths column on ESPN. Marvin's got an ego problem that allows him to believe he can coach anyone, so he drafts these bad news guys thinking that he's tough enough to get them straightened out. Doesn't seem to work that way in reality though. It's a damn shame, because I like a lot of what Marvin does, and I like the Bengals turn around, but I don't see it lasting for very long with all these other issues popping up every where. As a long time Cowboys fan, I can tell you it sucks when people forget about all the good guys and the great teams you have/had and just focus on the dumb@sses that screwed it up. murf74 461 Posted July 24, 2006 Seems Marvin is interested in another prospective guy that fits their team chemistry....read on...... http://sportspickle.com/features/volume5/2...19-bengals.html
