Value after trade?

Recommended Posts

Trade rumors are flying about Ashely "Mr. Underachiever" Lelie and Chris "Out 3 weeks for a stubbed toe" Brown being moved. I know Brown has some value, but how much. On a team like Denver, does he move up to #2 RB spot on an FFL team. What about Lelie, is he worth anything at all?

If Brown on the Broncos, I would think he would be an early 3rd rounder and a very legit #2. Don't forget how productive Brown was 2 years ago before his rash of injuries.

Ugh, I don't even want to think about what would happen to Denver's backfield situation if they added Chris Brown.

Lelie is what he is at this point...a deep threat. I don't view him as being anything more than a WR4 no matter what team he goes to.

Agreed, Chrissy on the Broncos is a totally different story, but OMG, a 4 man RBBC?!

You imply that he's been healthy either before or since his "rash" - that puzzles me. :argue:

2003 - 11 played, 0 started, 56 for 221, 0 TDs

2004 - 11 played, 11 started, 220 for 1067, 6 TDs - missed 5 games due to injury.

2005 - 15 played, 14 started, 224 for 851, 5 TDs - missed 1 and parts of several games due to irritated mangina.

his receiving isn't even worthy of mention, though it was decent last year (25/327/2)

So what exactly is there to "not forget" about him? I find his career quite forgettable.

Before the 2003 season, there was a lot of talk about how his upright running style could lead to injuries. Lo and behold, he's never been healthy.

In Denver, he'll be an injury waiting to happen, just like everywhere else. I think even Titans fans are ready to admit that this guy is a tremendous bust, having shown a few flashes of talent here & there, but nothing to indicate that he's qualified to be a feature NFL RB.

No doubt Brown stunk last year.

In 2004, when he was healthy- he was very productive and an integral element of my championship team. This was his rushing stat lines from the 11 games he played in:

100-0

152-1

101-1

55-0

148-2

52-0

55-0

147-1

62-0

104-0

91-1

IMO that does reveal the potential to be quite an effective feature back. The injuries are an obvious problem, but that hasn't held back people from ranting and raving about players who have accomplished less and been hurt more: JJones, KJones, DFoster. Would I draft Chris Brown if he was a Bronco? No, but I would see the potential value.

Dunno about that either...I think the Broncos would be one of the worst RB situations for him to go to. Put him on a team that needs him as a feature back (Green Bay comes to mind) and he might surpass expectations if he stays healthy.

But on the Broncos he just adds another element of confusion to the Rat's devious plans for world domination through pissing off fantasy managers.

I guess my biggest concern would be whether Chris Brown could handle being transported all the way from Nashville to Denver without sustaining a serious injury.
