SteelCurtain61 0 Posted July 26, 2006 I have the number 1 pick of the draft. I think with my first pick I will take ALEXANDER. What do you think would be good picks at 2 and 3? Should I take 2 rb's and 1 wr or double up on wr's? I would expect at least 15 rb's and maybe 7 wr's (I’m assuming someone will take manning) picked before I get my second pick. My league is 1pt for 10 yds rush 1 pt for 20 yrds recpt 1 pt per recpt 6pts for all tds bonus pts for 100, 150, 200 yrds rush and recpt flex WR/RB/TE

O Face 0 Posted July 26, 2006 If it were my pick, I'd go with L. Johnson. Dude's a monster. I don't think Alexander matches last year's performance. I'd go RB-RB-WR with the first three picks.

Bottles 0 Posted July 26, 2006 Kicker and his backup. Seriously, it depends on how picks 2-23 go. WR/WR or WR/RB could both work depending. You also would probably want to grab Manning shoud he fall, but I wouldn't count on it.
Doc T 0 Posted July 26, 2006 Take 2 WR's only if 2 of the studs are still there. But if the top 5-6 are gone I would not waste picks 2 and 3 on Harrison and Boldin or something crazy like that. There is a pretty big drop off when it comes to running backs after the first 23 or so which means if you dont love the WR's availible just take 1 and then pick up Westbrook, KJ...etc. Gonna have to wait and see. Should post Help Q's on other board.
Raider 84 29 Posted July 26, 2006 Shaun is a good choice!
jagermeister 0 Posted July 26, 2006 Shaun is a good choice! I agree. I think Larry Johnson is the riskier pick, though with a potentially higher ceiling. However, between the three of them (LJ, SA, LT), I think that Shaun Alexander is the safest pick with the fewest changes to his situation from last year. LJ has never carried the entire load for a full season (though he had the best partial season I have ever seen) and has a new conservative coach that may lead to more field goals and less touchdowns. LT has the young quarterback and I think they'll be playing from behind a lot more than in recent years. That said, both are studs. Even without Hutchison, he's practically a lock for 2200+ total YD's and 20 TD's, at a minimum. I'll take that without worries. My only concern would be an injury, as with any top pick. Be sure to draft Maurice Morris in the middle rounds.
jvan23 0 Posted July 26, 2006 why do people talk about Lj like he only played a half season? dude had the 7th most rushing attempts in the league last year. if he had 4 more carries, he would have been 5th. not sure why i'm posting this hear but i'm sick of hearing, "if he only started every game". he's an easy #1 pick in my book. that is all..... Jarvis Basnight 119 Posted July 26, 2006 I disagree completely with the Shaun pick. I'd take either Ladainian or Larry 1st.
